The Australian all-rounder, Aston Agar received a death threat ahead of Australia vs. Pakistan series. Agar’s wife Madeleine received messages on social media threatening her about his husband’s travel to Pakistan. The matter has been reported to PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) and Cricket Australia and an investigation was subsequently conducted.
As per The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, a team spokesperson has confirmed that Agar was the subject of the death threat. However, the intelligence team has found out that the threat is not credible and has been sent from a fake Instagram account, potentially from India.

However, Aston Agar is believed to be in good spirits despite the fact that her wife received death threats about him.
Last year the same scenario happened with the New Zealand team. Martin Guptill’s wife Laura received a threatening email ahead of the tour. Ultimately, New Zealand abandoned the tour at the last minute due to security concerns. Moreover, England has also abandoned both men’s and women’s tours of Pakistan due to security reasons.
Australia To Bring International Cricket In Pakistan
After the attack on the Sri Lankan team in 2009, there was totally drought of international cricket in Pakistan. But the West Indies tour of Pakistan in December 2021 encouraged international cricket in Pakistan. Now Australia one of the giants in the cricketing world is bringing back international cricket in Pakistan. This will be Australia’s first tour of Pakistan since 1998.
The Australia tour of Pakistan consists of a three-match Test series (March 4th to 25th), a three-match One Day International series (March 29th to April 2nd), and a sole T20 International match (April 5th). This will be a historic Australia tour of Pakistan 2022. Australia arrived in Pakistan on Sunday and Test captain Pat Cummins said he feels “incredibly safe”.
The Australian team received a high level of security.
Roads will be blocked off when the Australians make the 15-kilometer (11-mile) commute, with their team bus to be shadowed by army helicopters. Snipers will be positioned on buildings surrounding the stadium. Moreover, nearby shops and offices will not operate on match days.
