Things certainly aren’t looking good for Xbox this year as Bethesda has announced that Starfield and Redfall have been delayed. These games were supposed to be released this year, however, they have been pushed to Q1 of next year now. Many Xbox and Bethesda fans were very excited for both these games, but now they’ll have to wait longer.
Xbox has not had a solid single-player exclusive this year. Compared to Sony’s first-party lineup this year, the Xbox lineup has mostly been pretty weak. A lot of fans were even calling Starfield a “system-seller” for them as the game is being made by Bethesda Game Studios.
Reason For The Delay of Starfield and Redfall
Bethesda released a Twitter post that says, “We’ve made the decision to delay the launches of Redfall and Starfield to the first half of 2023. The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to ensure that you receive the best, most polished versions of them.”

Furthermore, it also said, “We want to thank everyone for their excitement for Redfall and Starfield. That energy is a huge part of what inspires all of us every day and drives our own excitement for what we are creating. We can’t wait to share our first deep dive into the gameplay for both Redfall and Starfield soon. Thank you for your support.”
Talking specifically about Redfall, the official Arkane Studios Twitter said, “Here at Arkane Austin, we’ve decided to delay the launch of Redfall. The team needs more time to bring the game to life. Thank you so much for your continued support. Redfall is our most ambitious game yet, and we can’t wait to show it off soon.”
What’s next for Xbox?
In case you didn’t know, Starfield is one of the major upcoming titles for Bethesda Game Studios. They’ve been known for their RPGs which include the Elder Scroll and Fallout series. Both the game got a lot of hype upon their initial announcement but since then we did not get any more detail about the games.
Till now, we haven’t got to see the gameplay for both the games as well. But now it is possible that the gameplay will likely be shown off soon. As Bethesda’s upcoming games showcase has been announced which is coming on June 12th. Along with the gameplay for Starfield and Redfall, we might also get more details about Hellblade 2. There are even chances of seeing that gameplay for Avowed, Obsidian’s upcoming fantasy RPG. While it is still not confirmed if we’ll see Fable anytime soon, Microsoft might give us a little more detail about the game too.
