Well-written villains can easily make heroes look pale in comparison and Bleach hit the spot with the amazingly written Aizen. All his moves have been believable and badass making him a fan favourite. Aizen was impressive both as a villain and initially as a nice guy. He’s not just the best Bleach villain but one of the best Shounen villains.
As Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War Arc is almost here, will we get to see more of Aizen? Will Aizen make a comeback to the series? All these questions become more vital with the nearing release of the anime.
History of Aizen
Aizen was introduced to fans in the Soul Society Arc, initially as a good guy. He soon turned out to be evil and nearly destroyed the Soul Society. He’s not just strong but also extremely smart and knows how to pull strings to get things done his way. We witnessed his return in the TYBW arc as well. He’s too well-written to be left off like that. It’s safe to assume that he’ll make a return in the upcoming cours of the anime.
Aizen in Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War Arc
The last time we saw Aizen, he was tied up and Yhwach tried to get him on their side. Being tied didn’t stop him from exhibiting menace. At the beginning of the TYBW arc, the quincies marked all the possible threats. Yamamoto, Zaraki, Ichigo, and Aizen were among these threats. The Quincies tried to sabotage these threats as much as possible during their first attack on the Soul Society.
- Yamamoto, the head captain was the primary threat. He was killed off by Yhwach.
- Zaraki was defeated by Yhwach. Even though he didn’t lose in terms of spirits, Zaraki was a clear loser in that fight.
- Ichigo was significantly weakened both mentally and physically. Informing him about his descent ensured that he stops in his tracks. He was also offered to join the quinces.
- Aizen is still a threat, even though Yhwach tried getting him on their side. We’re yet to see what decisions the Quincies make as far as Aizen is concerned. So far all the threats are done away with except for Aizen.
Will Aizen come back?
Aizen’s character has been portrayed as overpowered and his introduction in TYBW could’ve been easily avoided if there were no plans for bringing him back. It’s simply a waste to not have his comeback after teasing the fans about it. Aizen can change the flow of the entire battle by siding with the Quincies or the Soul society.
The Quincies we have seen so far are all overpowered. Their strength has threatened the Soul Society, way beyond what we thought was possible. Keeping a powerful character like Aizen out of a battle against the strongest villain would be a questionable decision. Also, the chances of him siding with the Soul Society are more probable as compared to Quincies.
Knowing him, he might just not pick a side but still get some fun out of the chaotic turn of events.
Conclusion
The odds of Aizen coming back are very high. The fans are pumped up with the release dates right around the corner. We might not see him make an appearance in this cour as it will be way too soon. His return is very likely but till then we can just relish the return of Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Arc this July 8th!
