The fast food chain’s social media handle shared pictures of the item with a caption acknowledging that it was not a joke but a real burger. As a result, the dish went viral on social media.

The new offering immediately caught people’s attention as they rushed to the restaurant to buy the bizarre burger and posted pictures on social media. Reports suggest that the high demand led to a halt in delivery orders so that they could have enough stock left for walk-in diners.

Burger King Thailand’s The Real Cheeseburger has no meat or condiments. The cheese slices are sandwiched inside a sesame seed bun. The quantity is clearly beyond the advised limit for anyone’s cardiovascular health

Is The Real Cheeseburger available worldwide?

Currently, The Real Cheeseburger is available only in Thailand’s Burger King restaurants. The fast food chain has not made any official announcement regarding the campaign going international in the near future.

According to reports, cheese is a favorite among young Thai customers, which remotely explains the choices made for the new dish. Thailand’s BK restaurants also sell local favorites like salmon katsu burgers.

Franchise restaurants like Burger King are operated by different owners in different countries. In Thailand, Minor International owns the Burger King franchise. They also manage Asian locations for Dairy Queen and Benihana.

Meanwhile, Burger King is focusing on its signature Whopper burger in the United States. Recently, they introduced a red-bun Whopper to celebrate the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Public Reactions to the New Burger King Dish

In the case of Burger King Thailand’s The Real Cheeseburger, ‘viral’ does not equate to ‘tasty.’ Most customers and food critics have complained about not being able to eat even half of the dish.

A reporter for Lifestyle Asia did not mince words for the viral cheeseburger, calling it a shock to the digestive system and a thousand calories worth of unnecessary processed cheese

To make things worse, even self-confessed cheese lovers have openly admitted that they hate this new dish. Most people could not go beyond a few bites and ended up throwing the burger into the bin.
