Cheteswar Pujara is all set to play county cricket. Pujara has signed up for the Sussex County Cricket Club to play in UK’s domestic season. He was delighted to join Sussex for the upcoming season and is looking forward to spending his time with the County team.
At the same time, Sussex has roped in Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan. Young Australia wicketkeeper-batter Josh Philippe has also joined the club for the upcoming season. Sussex confirmed the development on Thursday through an official statement.

The Indian veteran batter replaced Travis Head, who won’t be available for the upcoming season due to several international schedules and personal commitments. Travis Head is ready to embrace parenthood with his wife set to deliver a baby.
Pujara’s Poor Form
Past few months Pujara is not getting runs from his bat. He was dropped from the Test series against Sri Lanka. Moreover, he was demoted from grade B to Grade c in BCCI annual contract. Pujara also went unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction.
Everyone was wondering if he might make a comeback by scoring good runs in Ranji but he scored only 191 in five innings. Now, he has decided to play county to return back to form. This is his last chance to prove himself and make a return to the Indian squad.
Pujara has prior experience of playing in county cricket.
He will be available from Sussex’s first game in the first-class competition and will be available until their last match of the 50-over competition. Pujara sounded fairly excited for his upcoming county stint. Expressing his excitement over the upcoming county stint, Pujara said it’s an honor for him to be a part of the club.
