Every confirmed actor and character in Superman Legacy

Get ready to witness the Man of Steel like never before in the highly anticipated DC Extended Universe (DCEU) film, “Superman: Legacy.” This upcoming cinematic masterpiece takes us back to the early days of Superman, shedding light on the origins and adventures of the iconic hero, Clark Kent. Helmed by the visionary director and writer James Gunn, “Superman: Legacy” promises to captivate audiences with its fresh and compelling narrative. Scheduled for release in 2025, this thrilling film will unveil a star-studded ensemble cast, bringing to life a multitude of beloved characters from the Superman mythos. Prepare to be transported to a world where hope soars and legends are born as we embark on an extraordinary journey with the Man of Tomorrow and the Beacon of Hope.

David Corenswet will be playing Clark Kent/Superman

Henry Cavill finally bids goodbye to being the Man of Steel and will be replaced by the young actor, David Corenswet. Corenswet, 30, recently starred in movies like Pearl (2022) and We Own This City (2022) and will be getting his big break as he becomes the newest actor to don the Superman suit.

Corenswet was also part of the hit TV series House of Cards (2013-2018) and Elementary (2012-2019). According to James Gunn, Superman will be the same age as Corenswet when this releases in 2025. In that case, David Corenswet will be 31 years old.

Rachel Brosnahan will be playing Lois Lane

There were numerous female talents that reportedly were in consideration to play Clark Kent’s love interest, Lois Lane. Budding young actresses like Emma Mackey (Sex Education), Samara Weaving (The Babysitter, Scream VI), and Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton). However, the actress that gave the best impression among the producers is none other than Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel).

Brosnahan was reportedly “outstanding” during auditions. Although she may be too old to play Lois, she practically is the perfect woman to portray the character.

Isabela Merced will be playing Hawkgirl

Early in July, three talented stars were selected to play the other side characters in Superman: Legacy. One of which is Isabela Merced (Sicario: Day of the Soldado), who will be portraying one of the most underrated Justice League members, Hawkgirl.

Hawkgirl is a superheroine from DC comics who hailed from the Thanagarians race. They are capable of flight due to their genetically-engineered wings. Thanagarians, like Hawkgirl and Hawkman (who appeared in Black Adam), also have superhuman strength, and enhanced regeneration ability, and are akin to wielding weapons made of the Nth metal.

Nathan Fillion will be playing Guy Gardner

Another popular TV actor will get to star in this highly-anticipated film. Nathan Fillion (Modern Family, The Rookie) will portray the classic DC hero, Guy Gardner. Fillion has worked with James Gunn in the past such as his appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3.

To those who don’t know, Guy Gardner is another member of the Green Lantern Corps. We all remember that Hal Jordan is the Justice League’s Green Lantern, but there are other members of the intergalactic law enforcement group a.k.a Green Lantern Corps, who had similar capabilities as him. It’s been many years since we have seen the Corps in a live adaptation movie of DC comics. It’s unclear if Fillion’s Guy Gardner will play a big part in Superman: Legacy. Despite that, it’s surely a sight for sore eyes to see the Corps back in action again.

Edi Gathegi will be playing Mr. Terrific

James Gunn is casting great actors that suit perfectly for the character he wants in his upcoming blockbuster Superman film. Recently, Edi Gathegi gets the nod to portray Mr. Terrific. Gathegi isn’t new to superhero films as he portrayed the mutant Darwin in X-Men: First Class (2011). Honestly, that was a huge waste of Darwin’s powers after he was immediately killed in the film, but, moving on.

Gathegi will now take up the mantle of another superhero. This time, in the DC universe. The 44-year-old actor plays Michael Holt a.k.a Mister Terrific. In the comics, Holt became the second person to hold the monicker after Terry Sloane retired. Although Holt does not have powers, he is a human who’s the best of both worlds. Michael Holt is a genius and is also super athletic. He does, however, have something in his pocket (figuratively) that makes him a good hero – the T-sphere. Mr. Terrific obtains technological power from this invention, making him invisible to technology.
