The surge of Shanks’ popularity never seems to decline. And in what appeared in the leaked One Piece Chapter 1079 spoilers, we have been glimpsed further into Shanks’ power. And I say this in direct compliment to how much of Shanks we got in One Piece Film Red, which was almost nil (zero). Does Chapter 1079 show any more for all the Shanks fans?
On Monday, March 20, 2023, the initial spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1079 were unveiled, revealing several exciting developments for the issue.

- Additionally, Redon confirms that One Piece will be on a one-week hiatus after Chapter 1079. Although disappointing, this news is hardly unexpected given the series’ frequent release schedule since Eiichiro Oda, the author, and illustrator, took his last scheduled break.
- And this is also amidst a rising Covid Outbreak that has already delayed another set of good-willed Anime, namely Nier Automata and likes.
Shanks and his teased power/abilities which have never really been shown
- Shanks has never really appeared much throughout the series. The best we have of him is when he singlehandedly stopped the Marineford War. And the numerous times’ Oda has shown him using Conquerer’s Haki.
- But other than this, glimpses of Shanks’ powers are dim and dimming. With how much he has been teased as an emperor, fans are nothing short of astonished with what he can do.
Do we get more of the Red-Haired Shanks in One Piece Chapter 1079?
According to the initial spoilers leaked by Redon, One Piece Chapter 1079 begins with a focus on York, where her motivations may be further explored through a conversation with Dr. Vegapunk who is still in prison.
The perspective then shifts to Elbaf, revealing that Eustass Kid has been defeated by Shanks, who used his sword in the battle. Although Kid seemingly put up a better fight this time around, he ultimately lost.
- Redon also reports that Shanks uses a powerful attack similar to one used by Roger, which remains unnamed in the upcoming issue. I wish to contrast this to an eccentric display of power that Shanks did in One Piece Film Red.
- Where he stops Kizaru’s light kick with a Haki kick of his own, to fend the Admiral to back off. Although that was the pinnacle of what we got of Shanks in the film. And a final punch that broke the sleep dimension of Uta off, but that was about it.
One Piece Chapter 1079 Spoilers: Shanks vs Kidd?
In addition, the One Piece Chapter 1079 initial spoilers suggest that the Kid Pirates have been entirely defeated by Shanks’ crew, with implications that Killer and others have also been injured. The spoilers further reveal that Shanks has obtained Kid’s Road Poneglyph rubbings, which were obtained from an exchange between Trafalgar D. Water Law, the Straw Hats, and Wano.
- However, Redon speculates that the attack could be the Kamusari, also known as the Divine Departure in the official English subs of the anime.
- Despite some predictable aspects discussed in the spoilers, lead series leaker Redon hints that the issue has even more surprises in store.
About the special attack Shanks used throughout the leaked One Piece Chapter 1079 spoilers During the Kozuki Oden flashback, Roger used the Kamusari attack on Oden, and it appears to be an Advanced Conqueror’s Haki technique. Although there have been speculations that Shanks could use Advanced Conqueror’s Haki, his utilization of the Kamusari technique would strongly suggest this.
