Reapers have a long reach and a distinct arsenal of sweeping moves. When swung with proper spacing, these weapons are exceptionally effective for sneaking damage over shields. Among these Reaper-type weapons is Halo Scythe.
Halo Scythe has a weapon Skill called Miquellas Ring of Light which releases a circular projectile of light in a horizontal direction. Aside from looking very cool, the halo deals holy damage but scales only with faith. Although, the skill has a long wind-up which means using it at a distance is ideal.
Additionally, Halo Scythe ignores 40% damage from blocks and its heavy attacks, and charge attacks ignore for more. The weapon also has a hemorrhage effect which means dual-wielding the weapon has great benefits. However, the weapon cannot be further buffed or infused with Ashes of War.
To wield the weapon, characters require 13 Strength, 16 Dexterity, and 15 faith.

Halo Scythe: How to Get
Cleanrot Knights near the Heart of Aeonia Site of Grace in Caelid drops the Halo Scythe when defeated. The weapon has a 2% drop rate which makes it pretty rare. Using items that increase your discovery when farming the Halo Scythe is recommended. Some of the discovery items that increase discovery are Silver Scarab Talisman and Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot.
The Cleanrot Knight spawn area is plagued by Scarlet Rot which inflicts damage based on the target’s health. Scarlet rot has a faster infliction rate than poison but is generally shorter in duration. Here are some tips to mitigate Scarlet Rot.
- Use the Inner Aeonia Site of Grace/Heart of Aeonia. When Scarlet Rot manifests, moving to the site of grace can remove the status effect.
- Use scarlet rot mitigating items such as Immunizing Cured Meat and Horn Charm
- Can be cured using the invitation Flame, Cleanse Me or Preserving Boluses
Commander O’neil is within the area so if you do not intend to fight the boss, avoid him as much as possible.
