Elden Ring New Speedrunner Record: 19 Minutes!
As hard as Elden Ring is, Speedruns have found their way to make the game easier as the day goes by.
Just recently, a popular YouTube streamer, Distortion2, managed to finish the game in just 19 minutes.
Well, it was 18 minutes and 57 seconds to be exact. I couldn’t even get past the character creation with that amount of time!

Just to be clear, speedsters are speedrunning in the 1.02 version of Elden Ring because of the glitches and bugs it still has. These exploits were then later removed in the 1.03 version. The most known glitch in the previous version was the “zip glitch”. This glitch allows you to warp across the map and skip a lot of time in the game.
Distortion2’s Any% playthrough was just as expected. He did it in less than 19 minutes, but with glitches, bugs, and exploits he knew he could take advantage of. The famous streamer previously held the crown as the fastest to end the game but was just dethroned by another Elden Ring streamer. Today, he takes what is rightfully his again – as the fastest speedrunner.
Elden Ring had just been out for just more than a month. Since its release, we have already seen a lot of speedrunners breaking each others’ records.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if we will see future Any% playthroughs with smaller time. This would mean more glitches, more bugs, more exploits, or even putting in some cheats.
Game speedrunners are what we call gamers who instead of exploring and playing around the vast world of a game, find a way to break world records by finishing the game in as little time as possible.

These types of entertainers in the gaming community use different forms of techniques, glitches, loopholes, and sometimes, even cheats. To be fair, these gamers also put in the time and effort to explore and understand the game beforehand.
Here in Spiel Times, we believe you can finish Elden Ring in just a small period. How about, 17 minutes .. Plus 120 hours? (HAHAHA!)
