Elden Ring: Smithing Stone, How to Use, Locations
Smithing stones are one of the essential items you’ll find in Elden Ring. With it, you’ll be able to upgrade your weapons and maximize their capabilities. Like its predecessors, you don’t get a tutorial on these items. Here’s what you need to know to make the most out of them.
How to Use Smithing Stones
You’ll likely come across smithing stones as you travel and progress in Elden Ring. You’ll need a smithing table to use them. The first one you’ll notice at the Church of Elleh, next to the merchant. You can use the table to upgrade weapons to +3. However, if you want to go beyond that, you’ll need to go to the Roundtable Hold and talk to Smithing Master Hewg.
You can upgrade most weapons with the smithing stones, but you’ll need the Somber variety to upgrade special ones. The special ones also have a cap of +10, unlike the normal’s +25.

Locations
- You can find Smithing Stones as you progress in Elden Ring. However, there is a reliable way to get [1] and [2] to get your weapons to +6 fast. To do this, you’ll need to acquire the Smithing-Stone Miner’s Ball Bearing dropped by the Crystalian.
- You’ll find the boss at the Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel. Deliver the bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold, and you’ll be able to buy the items.
