Fortnite x 100 Thieves Bank Heist
On July 11, 2023, 100 Thieves released their new Fortnite Bank Heist game mode. A small in-house team developed this new game mode using the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) as the development program.
With the release of UEFN earlier this year, Epic Games unveiled the full capabilities of the in-game engine for the popular battle royale game and showed their long-term plans: giving users the ability to design customized interactions and maps for the game is the ultimate goal.

Using the UEFN, Epic Games aims to give anyone who plays Fortnite a chance to participate in a new competitive game mode. What is this Bank Heist game mode, and how can you play the game?
How to play Fortnite Bank Heist

When the game mode becomes available to the public, you should be able to access it by searching the community pages or entering the Island Code.
“100 Thieves presents Bank Heist, an exhilarating new game mode launched within the Fortnite platform that pushes the boundaries of online competition and strategic teamwork. The game launches worldwide on PC, Console, and everywhere Fortnite is available on Tuesday, July 11 at 11 a.m. PDT.”– Pete Hawley, Chief Product Officer and head of game development at 100 Thieves.
- Two teams compete to attack and defend a bank in the new game mode.
- The defenders must prevent the attackers from entering, seizing the valuables, and fleeing on a helicopter as long as possible.
- It’s a 3v3 team-based game.
- You can queue in a group of 6. The game then randomizes the team for you, allowing you to mix and match your strategies and playstyles depending on who is on your team.
Bank Heist classes
Once you are in the game, you can choose one of four specific classes with unique skills and traits:

- Muscle: As the muscle of your team, you will be given a shotgun as your primary weapon. This class is well-balanced in terms of strength.
- Tank: The tank class will be the front liner of your team. With a high HP and a machine gun as the primary weapon, this class is perfect for those who prefer getting up close and taking plenty of hits for your team.
- Grenadier: Grenadier will be using grenades. This class is a high-damage class equipped with an assault rifle, giving you the chance to blow your way through the bank.
- Sniper: Equipped with a deadly sniper, this class is perfect for those who love to be the team’s guardian angel and engage in combat from a distance.
Bank Heist Gameplay
There are three stages in 100 Thieves Bank Heist in Fortnite game mode:
- Bank Heist: The attacker’s objective is to break into the bank and successfully drill into the underground vault. Until the countdown expires, the defenders must keep watch over the vault and stop the attackers.
- Escort the Payload: Once the attackers are through the vault, they’ll have to escort a payload to a designated finish point.
- Extraction: If the attacker team succeeds in getting the payload to the finish point, a new area opens up. Attackers have to run to the getaway helicopter as the final stage.
