More exciting news for fans of miHoYo’s Genshin Impact has recently come out, yet again as an information leak. miHoYo has been getting very serious about leakers in China. Sites such as the Honey Impact, which hosted official and data-mined info, have been affected. In addition, there have been several announcements from leakers that they will be quitting from leaking data; though it is hard to correlate the two.
Lucky for us, some of them have made up their minds to give us one final surprise. Popular leaker Dimbreath had shared a screenshot from a datamined cutscene from the upcoming Genshin Impact Story cutscene that was to feature on the Moonchase Festival. The leaked information shows Yelan, a Liyue character with connections to Fu Hua fromHonkai Impact, another game from miHoYo.

Yelan x Honkai Impact
- When fans saw the character leaked, they were able to compare Yelan and Fu Hua. However, it is not confirmed that the two are related, or if miHoYo had taken inspiration from Honkai Impact to design the Yelan character.
- In the past, miHoYo has built characters in Genshin that has been similar to Honkai. Raiden Shogun is similar in appearance to Raiden Mei, the Thunder Herrscher in Honkai Impact. Similarly, Anemo Archon Venti is a ringer for Wendy, the Wind Herrscher. Therefore, it does seem very possible that Yelan might be related to the Honkai Impact character.
- If the relation between the characters proves true, Yelan might just have a huge role to play in Genshin Impact, as it has an impact upon the relationship between the two games. If Yelan is not to have such a huge role, the similarities may just be a coincidence.
Yelan > Adeptus?
While we do not know what Yelan’s role will be in Genshin Impact, it has been speculated that Yelan might be a younger Madame Ping, since Yelan seems to be holding the Cleansing Bell. Others have speculated that Yelan is Adeptus, the Cloud Retainer, in human form, and this might be based on the fact that Adeptus has a color scheme similar to that in Yelan’s screenshot. Adeptus was not released as a playable character due to it being leaked in a datamine, and this might be a second attempt at bringing the character into the game.
