Gran Turismo 7: Tuning, Tips, and Tricks
Tuning returns in Gran Turismo 7, and if you’ve tried the feature in previous games, you’ll know that it’s not as easy as it sounds. You only need to buy the upgrade and put it in your car in other games. With realism being a center point in the Gran Turismo series, you could end up messing up your vehicle with some wrong moves.
Getting into the finer details of tuning can take a lot of time.
Here are a few things you can start with which will act as a foundation for tuning as you learn more about it:
- Are you interested in entering a race with a Performance Points (PP) limit? Try tuning your car with the Power Restrictor so you can enter that race.
- You can’t reduce your car’s weight to the highest level right away. You’ll have to progress each stage one by one until you get your desired weight.
- Some tuning parts will only affect your car if you have the other upgrade required for them. Always check your performance points (PP) first to see if your addition has any positive effect.

- Fiddling with your suspension and brake can lead you to a frustrating time on the track. If you’re starting or don’t want to bother with it, we recommend using the Sports Suspension.
- Tires should be the first thing you upgrade on your car. Having better ones will make braking and handling much better than the stock ones.
If you’re looking for more aesthetic upgrades, head to the GT Auto area to do it. You can also change the oil there to improve your car’s condition if it needs it.
