GRIS Wins Best Visual Art Award At GDC 2019
Nomada Studio’s visually calm and empowering experience, GRIS, won the Game Developers Choice Award for Best Visual Art at GDC 2019.
Competing against some of the big names in the industry, GRIS stood out to take home this prestigious award. Amongst Marvel’s Spider-Man, God of War, Return of the Obra Dinn, Red Dead Redemption 2 and itself, GRIS emerged as the winner for the GDCA award for Best Visual Art.

Unlike Red Dead Redemption 2, GRIS was nominated for just two categories; Best Audio, Visual Art and Best Debut. The game didn’t win the Best Debut Award as Annapurna Interactive’s mobile narrative, Florence proved more deserving.
GRIS is a magnificent game which highlights the positive and negative sides of the human thinking process. It deals with depressive thoughts and miseries which shackle people and refrain them from carrying on with life. If you haven’t played it already, check out our review where Ishan elaborates the beauty and delicacy of the game very efficiently.
