Grand Theft Auto Online hasn’t had a significant update in a while. The most recent one was the Los Santos Drug War over the previous holiday season. But now Rockstar has finally announced the release date of their new major update, ‘GTA Online: San Andreas Mercenaries,’ and it will be released on June 13th.
In the trailer video, we can see a lot going on. From new types of vehicles, characters, and gameplay, it’s truly an exciting time to explore in GTA Online. Now, let us dive deeper into what’s new in this infamous open-world multiplayer new update!
What’s New in GTA Online San Andreas?
New action-packed jobs
In the trailer, we can see a lot of explosives, gunfights, and all exciting car chases. This shows how the upcoming update will bring about new jobs for us.
- Rockstar’s official website reveals that a new NPC, Charlie Reed, will be forming a squadron that players can enlist in this new update for GTA Online. This group is called the Los Santos Angels.
- There will be new lucrative private work, stealing sensitive data from server farms, conducting raids, and dropping explosive payloads on high-value targets across the state.
Mammoth Avenger’s new features
In this new update, the ‘Flying Fortress’ Mammoth Avenger will play a crucial role, as we can see that the trailer highlighted this steel beast parking in the hangar.
- The Mammoth Avenger is an aircraft with armor and weapons introduced with the Doomsday Heist update in 2017.
- According to Rockstar, Mammoth Avenger will be utilized as an operation terminal in addition to carrying deadly explosives.Â
- It is now can be customized in the personal hangar.
- Players can store and access the Avenger without a hangar.
Vehicle update
Rockstar has confirmed the addition of a couple of new cars:
- Bravado muscle car, which is based on Charger EV
- Mabatsu off-roader, based on Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution
Along with new vehicles, the long-awaited GTA Online San Andreas Mercenaries update also brings a new fighter jet based on the F-35 and F-22.
There are also a few noteworthy vehicle-relate adjustments, such as:
- Players can now use Mors Mutual Insurance to make an insurance claim on the car they destroyed.
- Garages can have custom description tags to make it easier to find your favorite vehicles.
- You can make a single claim for all wrecked automobiles by phoning Mors Mutual Insurance.
- The Willard Eudora and Albany Classique Broadway will be eligible for Taxi Work when using Taxi Liveries.
- Players can now browse the Jobs menu with more Race type criteria available.

Fans have long provided feedback on game changes that would make content more accessible. Rockstar also made improvements like the following after acquiring that:
- Body Armor will be automatically restocked when players initiate a mission. This will be the same as when players first entered the lobby.
- Players will no longer receive a phone call from English Dave or Tom Connors while parachuting in GTA Online.
- An alternate sprint control option (hold to sprint) will be added to the Settings Menu.
- Rank is no longer a requirement for Daily Objectives. As a result, everybody will be allowed to participate in the game.
