Here Are The Gears 5 Cross-Play Support Modes
As happened in Gears of War 4, this year’s Gears 5 also supports cross-play between Xbox One and PC. The multiplayer director Ryan Cleven has confirmed that cross-play is supported not only for Versus multiplayer, but also for the Escape, Horde and Campaign modes. At GameSpot, Cleven explained:
“We are happy to confirm that Gears 5 will offer a cross-platform experience between Windows 10 PC and Xbox One for Versus Multiplayer mode at launch. The cross-platform (or cross-play) game will also extend to the other Gears 5 modes to offer you a fantastic three-player experience with Escape, the epic five-player sessions with the Horde and the chance to face the main Campaign in co-op until to a maximum of three users”.
Keyboard and mouse controls offer a better level of accuracy than a controller and fortunately, multiplayer users of Gears 5 may choose not to play against PC users for the ranked game.
“For the launch of Gears 5, Xbox players will be able to choose not to play against PC players for ranked matches,” said Cleven.
We recall that the release of Gears 5 is scheduled for September 10, but there is already today available for fans who have an Xbox Game Pass subscription, a technical multiplayer test scheduled from July 19 to 22 and from July 26 to 29.
