Honkai: Star Rail is the latest game those in the gacha community have been raving about. This turn-based RPG comes from the same creators of another gacha game, Genshin Impact. Although both games have many similarities, they have one key difference in the available platforms for Honkai: Star Rail. Now that we’re approaching version 1.1, many fans wonder: can you play Honkai: Star Rail on the PS4 and PS5?
Will Honkai: Star Rail version 1.1 be available on the PS4 and PS5?
In the days leading up to the announcement of Honkai: Star Rail version 1.1, there have been many rumors surrounding a PS4 and PS5 release. The game officially launched to the general public on April 26, 2023. Since its release, Trailblazers can play the game on the PC, iOS, and Android devices. However, many Trailblazers in the community have been asking HoYoverse for a PS4 or PS5 release.

- Before the 1.1 live stream aired, Trailblazers in different forums like Reddit and Twitter discussed that the release date for Honkai: Star Rail on the PlayStation consoles is drawing near.
- Unfortunately, the announcements from the 1.1 live stream did not involve any updates on the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game.
- The silver lining in all of this is that HoYoverse is still working on bringing its newest title to these platforms, but not just yet.

What we can do for now is patiently wait for HoYoverse to release more details about this. Given that the PS4 is slowly starting to be replaced by the PS5, it’s actually pretty impressive for HoYoverse to still include a version for the previous-gen.
Honkai: Star Rail supports cross-play and cross-progression
The good thing about games like Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact is they both support cross-play and cross-progression. Once the game introduces a new feature that lets you explore the stars with friends, you won’t run into trouble battling the different enemies in Honkai: Star Rail even if you game on different devices.
- Cross-progression is also one of the key highlights of Honkai: Star Rail. If you’re still waiting on the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game, you can use your PC, Android, or iOS device to play the game.
- Then, you can log into your account when the PlayStation versions of the game are released. Don’t worry; you won’t lose your account and progress so far when doing this!
- Linking your PSN to Honkai: Star Rail should follow the same method as Genshin Impact on the PlayStations.
- Once your HoYoverse account is linked with your PSN, you can sync your data and pick up where you left off from there. This nifty feature also lets you game on the go! You can switch between your PS4 or PS5 to your Android or iOS device anytime.
Missing that PS4/PS5 feel? The PC version has controller support
If you’re still feeling blue about Honkai: Star Rail not being on the PS4 or PS5 yet, there’s a workaround to this! Of course, you’ll need a PC that can run the game first. HoYoverse has revealed that Honkai: Star Rail has controller support for the PC version. Unfortunately for mobile gamers, there aren’t any updates on when they’ll release support for this platform.

How to use a controller in Honkai: Star Rail PC
It’s quite easy to use a controller in Honkai: Star Rail. All you have to do is plug your controller of choice into a USB port with a cable. On the other hand, you can also connect your controller through Bluetooth.
- Once you have your controller connected to your PC, log into Honkai: Star Rail.
- It automatically detects your controller so that you won’t have a hard time with it! You can switch to a keyboard and mouse at any time, saving you the trouble of going into Settings and manually changing your controls.
- If you run into connection issues with your controller, make sure to close all other apps like Steam or DS4Windows.
- Then, try reconnecting your controller and pressing any button once you’re in Honkai: Star Rail.
