Honkai: Star Rail x Genshin Impact – Is Stellaron related to Forbidden Knowledge?

Honkai Star Rail x Genshin Impact - Is Stellaron related to Forbidden Knowledge - Featured

When the same developer makes two games, it’s not unusual for easter eggs to pop up here and there. Now that Honkai: Star Rail has been released, many HoYoverse fans are seeing things that may be related to Genshin Impact. For fans like these, they usually take to Reddit or other online forums to discuss fan theories. One of the theories about Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact’s connections is the Stellaron and Forbidden Knowledge. In this article, we will be taking a closer look at this Star Rail x Genshin theory to see if it is true.

Is the Stellaron in Honkai: Star Rail related to the Forbidden Knowledge in Genshin Impact?

This theory was shared in a large Genshin Impact group on Facebook. According to the theory’s author, there is a chance that the Stellaron in Honkai: Star Rail may pertain to the Forbidden Knowledge in Genshin Impact.

  • They theorize that since Stellarons are “seeds” sown across the universe by the Aeon of Destruction, Nanook, there may be a Stellaron in Genshin Impact that Travelers failed to notice early on.
  • When Stellarons appear in a world, they cause massive changes to everything, including the entire ecosystem. This is also why they are seen as seeds of disaster in Honkai: Star Rail.
  • The presence of a Stellaron can have serious effects on whatever planet or world it is on. One proof of this in the game is Jarilo-VI, with only the city of Belobog remaining after the Eternal Freeze.

  • Going back to the theory, the author further suggests that the Stellaron sown into Genshin Impact’s universe could be the Forbidden Knowledge talked about in the Sumeru story arc.
  • When playing Honkai: Star Rail’s first story quest, they refer to the Stellaron as the Forbidden Knowledge. This small detail further fuels theories that Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact are related in more ways than one.
  • Another point raised by the author is what the previous Dendro Archon, Rukkhadevata, said about the Forbidden Knowledge. She explains that it doesn’t belong to their world in Genshin Impact. Even someone as knowledgeable and wise as the Dendro Archon could not figure it out herself.

How true is this Honkai: Star Rail x Genshin Impact theory?

Personally, the theory remains just that for me: a theory. Although there may be a possibility that both games are linked to one another, it doesn’t look like Stellaron and Forbidden Knowledge are one and the same. If you’ve already played Honkai Impact 3rd, they have their own version of the Stellaron and Forbidden Knowledge: the Honkai.

This is a recurring theme from HoYoverse, but they present it differently in their games.

  • In Honkai Impact 3rd, the Honkai energy is known to be dangerous since it is the source of the Honkai Beast.
  • As for Honkai: Star Rail, the Stellaron is dangerous since it can gravely affect a world and its entire ecosystem.
  • In Genshin Impact, the concept of Forbidden Knowledge could mean a lot of things. Furthermore, it has more similarities to the Honkai energy than Stellaron. If the Honkai energy did manage to make itself into the world of Genshin Impact, that would explain the Withering Zones, Eleazar, and other dark forces in Teyvat.

Future story chapters in Star Rail may shed more light

If you are looking for connections between Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact, it might be too early to find one. Who knows, we might get more hints as the story of Star Rail expands. Currently, the only possible connection in the HoYoverse is Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd.

The latest game from HoYoverse does feature interesting nods to Genshin Impact, though. If you explore Herta Space Station, you can find a Wind Glider as one of the Curios on display. However, it looks like an easter egg the devs figured would be entertaining for Genshin Impact fans. For now, it’s best to take everything with a grain of salt unless HoYoverse confirms it.
