Jon Snow’s sequel for Game of Thrones is being developed by HBO, with a potential for Kit Harington to take play the part of this famous character once more.
The Sequel is coming out in a time when origin prequels and nostalgic world-building have already established popularity.
Jon Snow – His Story in Game of Thrones
Jon Snow has a striking history that sets him apart from everyone else in the story – or is that character and determination lying beneath everything?
Snow is the son of Lyanna Stark, who was abducted by Rhaegar Targaryen during the war of the five kings. She was finally saved later by Ned and his companions. But by the time he reached her, it was clear that she would die giving birth to Rhaegar’s son, our Jon Snow.
- He did not have a very happy childhood even though Eddard loved him nor did he ever receive the love he needed from Catelyn.
- Jon Snow grew up feeling like an outsider and his closest friends were Robb and Arya.
It is surprising that at the end of Season 7, Bran even reveals that Lyanna was never abducted against her will. And Jon was in fact Aegon Targaryen, the rightful heir of the iron throne.
From here starts a story of valour, conviction, and pursuit on Snow’s part which seemingly never ends. It is a story that he did not start but takes full part in all through the eight seasons of Game of Thrones.
Jon Snow the Sequel
Snow has a descriptive contradictory name but it serves the purpose.
- On June 16, 2022, it was revealed that HBO might be working on this sequel focusing on Jon Snow’s life in exile.
- This was officially confirmed by Emilia Clarke on June 22, 2022. Standing is the fact that this project was Kit Harrington’s own idea.
Initially, we did not know if these projects would be chosen one over the other. But since the creation of House of Dragons and its success, it can safely be assumed that other shows will also meet production sooner or later.
A recent leak for the Jon Snow sequel has revealed that it might be produced as a limited series, which could be a concern for hardcore fans.
- A limited series means both the storyline and the timeline in context with it will be short.
- There will be just one or two seasons all focused on a few of his in the North.
Kit Harington has also confirmed previously that Jon Snow was dead. So there can only be answers and not a continuation of his journey anymore.
