The reality star and entrepreneur practically needs no introduction thanks to her online fame and now she looks to extend her streak of fame into the world of cinema. The Fifth Wheel lands at Netflix
Ever since reports emerged about Kim Kardashian’s presence in The Fifth Wheel, multiple studios have been fighting to get their hands on the film. However, Netflix has beaten all competitors to steer the movie away from a potential theatrical release and into its streaming platform.

The sale marks one of the most significant deals in the industry since the SAG-AFTRA strike ended earlier this month. Netflix has been busy with high-profile acquisitions like this and Richard Linklater’s Hit Man starring Top Gun: Maverick star Glen Powell.
There is no official release date for The Fifth Wheel but given the usual pace of low-to-mid budget Netflix Originals productions, we can expect the film to premiere around mid-2024 to early 2025.
Confirmed cast and crew
The upcoming female-led comedy film is written by SNL alum Paula Pell and Janine Brito who previously worked on Mr. Mayor and Bless the Harts. This duo of writers is actually a married couple and Pell is also an actress who starred in Wine Country. This will bring a diverse appeal to the film.

According to Netflix, the film will feature a talented female ensemble cast and more details will be revealed soon. Kim Kardashian remains the only confirmed cast member of this project and she is expected to play the titular fifth wheel, meaning there would be at least four more key characters.

The reality star hopes to repeat her previous successes in the world of scripted entertainment. The 43-year-old internet personality was recently seen in American Horror Story Season 12. She has also lent her voice to the animated film, PAW Patrol.
