Emma Corrin is rumored to play Deadpool 3’s villain Cassandra Nova

Hollywood insiders began to hint at a connection between Emma Corrin’s character and Professor X. Previously, Corrin was rumored to be playing the villain Danger but was later debunked. Then, she was also speculated to be a female variant of Deadpool, which seemed to have made sense at the time. However, Corrin’s role was eventually confirmed by one of the most trusted leakers in the industry, CanWeGetSomeToast. In their Twitter post, they confirmed that Emma Corrin will be playing an X-Men supervillain named Cassandra Nova.

“I can confirm that Emma Corrin will be portraying Cassandra Nova in #Deadpool3.” Cassandra Nova is an X-Men villain who is best known for being the sister of Charles Xavier.

Who is Cassandra Nova?

Cassandra Nova was technically a Shi’ar “Mummudrai,” a spirit that is both equal and opposite to a person. And, through Professor Charles Xavier‘s incredible genetic potential, his Mummudrai was able to create a physical form while forming in Sharon Xavier’s (Professor X’s mother) womb. Simply put, Cassandra Nova is Charles’ twin, only very evil.

Professor X and Cassandra Nova

Professor X‘s evil twin tried to kill him by stranger him with their mother’s umbilical cord but Charles fought back. Recognizing Cassandra as an evil spirit and then proceeded to attempt to murder her using his telepathic talents. Unfortunately, their rivalry resulted in their mother’s miscarriage. But, thankfully, Cassandra was declared stillborn by the doctors. She survived, though, and spent the next decades as a growing mass of cells in a sewer wall, constructing a new body and plotting her revenge on her brother.

Cassandra possesses immense telepathic powers comparable to Professor X

In Marvel, a Mummudrai usually has to fight another being to possess their body. Well, Cassandra Nova is different. Thanks to Professor X’s DNA, she was able to create his own. Moreover, she can copy the DNA of sentient beings and he chose to copy his twin brother’s. That means, while she also looks like Charles (bald), she also has all of the powers his twin mastered through the years. What makes her probably stronger is that she can mimic other DNA and even manipulate her own. With Cassandra’s potential, she becomes a huge threat not just to the X-Men, but also to the whole planet. In Deadpool’s threequel, it is still unclear if she will be the main villain since we have heard rumors that the big bad of Deadpool 3 will be a “familiar face”. That being said, Deadpool may be facing his biggest adversary in Cassandra Nova in the upcoming film.
