Megaman Battle Network Series
The Megaman Battle Network series is a tactical RPG shooter game released on the Game Boy Advance. Back then, Capcom planned it as a spinoff of the original Megaman platformer series. This series takes place in an alternate world from the main games.
The first Battle Network game was released in 2001 to great success and positive reviews from critics. Due to its success, they had released 6 more mainline games during its run. Results show that the games had a generally positive reception.
Game Mechanics
Its unique gameplay mechanics distances itself from the iconic platformer-style game of its predecessors. In addition, Capcom did a brave and novel move to combine card battle systems with a new grid-like battle system. Moreover, this futuristic combat complements the story’s plot of fighting online Net Viruses as well.

This battle system follows an RPG style with the separate overworld and battle environments. Additionally, battles take place in a 6 x 3 grid with each character controlling half the grid at the beginning. Meanwhile, your player uses collectible cards called, Battle Chips, to use powerful abilities to affect the playing field.

World Exploration

The game allows you to explore both the real world and the virtual world through the two main characters, Megaman and Lan Hikari. In the real world, you control the movements of the Lan. While in the virtual world, you use Lan’s partner program, Megaman, to explore and battle Net Viruses.
The timing of the release of Megaman Battle Network was perfect for its time. As a re sult, it was able to rival the Pokemon game series releases on the Game Boy Advance at one point as well.
At the start of the 2000s, trading card games and the rapid improvements in technology were the big things. And in a smart move, Capcom smartly took both concepts and made a game that perfectly balanced those two ideas. With the success of the games, several seasons of Megaman Battle Network anime were made as well.

This upcoming legacy collection contains all of the well-loved Megaman Battle Network titles. The total number of games, including alternate versions, is a whopping 10 titles. In addition, these titles were all released within the time span of 2001 to 2006.

Firstly, the collection has upgraded graphics that can be adjusted, smoothing out the old pixel style of the games.
Secondly, one of these new features is an art gallery of all the concept illustrations, official video game art, and promotional art for the games. With over a thousand images, it will take quite a while to look through and appreciate all there is to see.
Lastly, a music mode with its own playable gallery is included as well. Furthermore, it contains over 150 songs and soundtracks from the game throughout the years. Let yourself jam to the soundtracks for hours with this latest addition.
