Due to Jordan Poole’s underperformance in the 2023 NBA Playoffs so far, some basketball fans are pushing the Warriors to trade him in the offseason. He just secure the bag after signing a huge contract ($140 Million for 4 years), and now, he is getting dissed for robbing the Golden State Warriors. Whatever the team’s future in the playoffs could be, it’s highly unlikely that they will trade Jordan Poole. But, if we really come to that scenario, here are some teams that have been rumored to be interested in the young star.

Toronto Raptors
It seems that every Jordan Poole trade points to a team filled with young talents – the Toronto Raptors. When Kawhi Leonard left shortly after their championship run in 2019, the Raptors weren’t the same. Sure, they were great, but they were mediocre at times. Although they have All-star caliber players like Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet, they still need that go-to guy.
A possible trade between Golden State and Toronto would bring Jordan Poole to Canada in exchange for veterans Otto Porter Jr., Thaddeus Young, and Chris Boucher, plus a future first-round pick. However, what could be interesting is a package involving OG Anunoby to the Warriors. The Dubs may lose Poole and several other role players in the process, but I think it’s worth it. Anunoby is a great 3-and-D player who can shoot the ball when needed. Moreover, Anunoby is a better defender and better shooter (with better field goal percentages) that also does not need the ball too much.

Brooklyn Nets
Among all of the scenarios in this list, Warriors fans are excited about a package that would bring in defensive stopper Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets. It seems like a stretch but it’s not possible. Brooklyn is in the process of rebuilding after Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving left. But, they found a diamond in the rough with Mikal Bridges. Only known as a lockdown wing defender during his Phoenix Suns days, nobody knew he would become a Kevin Durant prototype after joining the Nets. Since joining Brooklyn, he has averaged 26.1 points on 47.5% shooting. The thing is, are the Brooklyn Nets front office willing to give up Bridges for Poole?

Miami Heat
The Miami Heat are on their way to reaching the NBA Finals once again, thanks to the heroics of Jimmy Butler. However, without Jimmy, this team is mid. Not exceptional, but good enough for the Eastern Conference. Both Victor Oladipo and Tyler Herro are injured, and Duncan Robinson is losing his touch. Meanwhile, Kevin Love and Kyle Lowry are already old. Although they have notable players like Bam Adebayo, Max Strus, Gabe Vincent, and Caleb Martin, Miami is desperate to add a superstar reinforcement (we’re looking at you Kyrie Irving).
That being said, Jordan Poole may not be an All-Star, but he has shown flashes of greatness. In the 2022-2023 season, Poole averaged 20.4 points, which could be a great help for the Heat’s offense alongside Jimmy Butler. In return, they have to sacrifice Duncan Robinson, Victor Oladipo, Haywood Highsmith, and some picks to land Jordan Poole next season.

Utah Jazz
Utah Jazz started the 2022-2023 season strong but fell in the latter part. However, they still were exceptional. They have found a key piece in Lauri Markkanen while also being filled with talented veterans like Jordan Clarkson and Rudy Gay. In addition to that, they found a reliable rookie in Walker Kessler. Overall, Utah is already a contender. What’s missing from the team is a bonafide superstar who can bring a winning culture to the Jazz again.
It may not be Jordan Poole, but he could be that guy if given the chance. However, Utah does not have a very compelling trade package for Poole right now. A package that could contain Kelly Olynyk, Ochai Agbaji, and some second-rounders may not entice the Warriors that much.

Orlando Magic
If you are an Orlando Magic fan, then you may have been suffering with how poor the franchise is doing. Since the Dwight Howard era, Orland has lost its Magic (no pun intended). They’re a team that can barely hold on to a 0.500 season, and sometimes, they are dead last in the East. Hopefully, Paolo Banchero turn things around.
If they want a guy like Jordan Poole, the best they could do is offer a lot of draft picks. They are indeed still in rebuild mode, but can they afford to lose picks in exchange for Poole? Obviously, they can’t have that WIN NOW attitude with what they have. And, even with Poole, that still wouldn’t be the case.
