With Nintendo Direct coming near, fans of Nintendo have been eagerly anticipating to see what new or remake titles are coming next. One game that really got people anticipating is the classing Nintendo game, Tomodachi Life. Apart from speculations, will fans finally get a Tomodachi Life remake?

Nintendo hosts online presentations or live events called “Nintendo Directs” where they reveal or talk about upcoming video games, platforms, amiibo, and other Nintendo-related things. These typically stream simultaneously on both Nintendo’s official YouTube and Twitch channels

On Wednesday, June 21, Nintendo will air a fresh Nintendo Direct presentation. Nintendo announced that this year’s Nintendo Direct will be focusing on new titles for the Switch. It will be broadcasted live on Nintendo’s YouTube account at 10 a.m. EDT/7 a.m. PDT.
The next lineup for Nintendo includes:
- Metroid Prime 4
- Everybody 1-2-Switch!
- Pikmin 4
Naturally, Nintendo can also add a collection of classic video games from the NES, Super NES, and Nintendo 64 era to its Nintendo Switch Online service.
Talking about the classic games of the early Nintendo era, one game that fans are anticipating is Tomodachi Life.

The last time that Tomodachi Life was set to release was in 2021. However, up until now, there has been no update or development whatsoever on this fan-favorite Nintendo 3DS game. Since then, people are speculating on whether Tomodachi Life ever gets a remake. Following Nintendo Direct 2023, fans are eagerly anticipating the game to be announced.

Although there are no leaks yet regarding Tomodachi Life Remake on Nintendo Direct 2023, fans of this Mii character-based game can still hold on to hope. Here is a reason why:
Mii is still developed by Nintendo
Since the early days of the Nintendo Switch, many long-time fans were worried about the future of Miis. Not only are the Mii settings hidden in Nintendo Switch, but the ‘failure’ of Nintendo Wii got the fans worried that Nintendo might be abandoning their Mii content altogether.
However, Nintendo released the game Miitopia Remastered in 2021, and Nintendo Switch Sports. This gesture could be a hint that Nintendo is still developing its Mii content. In addition, this gesture also gives the fans hope that Tomodachi Life will get a remake.
What is Tomodachi Life?
Tomodachi Life is a social simulation video game developed by Nintendo SPD7 and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS. The narrative of the game centers on the interactions that Mii characters have on a daily basis as they form relationships, deal with issues and communicate with the player.
A level of Mii customizability was first introduced in Tomodachi Life and further developed in Nintendo games like the role-playing game Miitopia for the Nintendo 3DS and Switch and the social networking app Miitomo. These games let you dress up Miis in more elaborate clothing, and the Switch version of Miitopia even lets you change their cosmetics.
