Nintendo has announced its ending Twitter integration starting June 10th, 2024. Players won’t be able to send friend requests via Twitter from “within the Nintendo switch friend suggestions feature.” All the screenshot sharing on Twitter wouldn’t be possible anymore.
Announcing on its official website, Nintendo has confirmed the news. Facebook integration will continue to work, but the ability to share screenshots from games like Super Smash Bros. will become unavailable. The company hasn’t mentioned any reasons behind the decision, but people who’ve been following the byte closely have mentioned Twitter’s expensive API fees as an issue.
No more friend requests, no more posts from the mailbox in Inkopolis Square on either Twitter or Facebook. Nintendo will rework sharing screenshots from Inkopolis Plaza and we’ll update you whenever that happens.
