No Sly Cooper Game In Development: Jason Schreier
Earlier today I reported on Jeff Grubb’s speculation on a new Sly Cooper game in development at Sucker Punch Productions. Jason Schreier tweeted on the matter writing, “No truth to this one, sorry to say.”
He wrote, “No truth to this one, sorry to say. Sucker Punch is a one-project studio. The reason Ghost of Tsushima 2 isn’t out yet is because AAA video games now take 5-7 years to make. (Also, Sucker Punch is smaller than most other AAA game developers).”
People online were excited and skeptical about the speculation at the same time and as we know Jason’s reputation in the video game industry, it’s most likely there’s no Sly Cooper game in development at the moment.
He further replied to one user by writing, “I can debunk that there’s any fire underneath that smoke.” Another reply reads, “No, I like Grubb. And he gets plenty of stuff right. I just saw this getting some traction so felt like I should correct the record.”
This shouldn’t come as a surprise since Sucker Punch in 2022 stated how they are not working on any Sly Cooper or inFAMOUS titles at the time due to their focus on big games, such as Ghost of Tsushima and its sequel.
It is still too early to find out more information on Ghost of Tsushima 2, but sorry to say to everyone hoping for a new Sly Cooper game, it isn’t happening anytime soon.
If anything more arises, we’ll let you know.
