Pokémon Legends: Arceus – Kleavor, How to Beat

In the Obsidian Fieldlands, you will meet your first Noble Pokémon. You’ve been tasked with calming down the Bug/Rock-type Pokémon Kleavor. Following the main story quest will lead you to Grandtree Arena, where your comrades will show you how to use balms to soothe these ferocious Pokémon. This boss battle is somewhat different as compared to this game’s predecessors. So, you need to be a little patient and be focused, to finish this task with ease.

Kleavor

During the battle, Kleavor will be level 18. The encounter with this Pokémon, on the other hand, isn’t just another typical combat, it includes some brand-new mechanics.

Instead of throwing Poke Balls at Kleavor or fighting it in battle, players will need to use special balms to calm it down. This may appear simple enough, but the Pokémon will actively attack the player due to its frenzied state, and too many hits will cause them to lose consciousness and lose the battle.

• Level: 18
• Type: Bug/Rock
• Moves: Aerial Ace, Double Hit, Stealth Rock, Air Slash
• Weaknesses: Water, Steel, Rock

How To Beat

Kleavor’s attacks are simple, and there are only 2 of them for trainers to be concerned with. The first one is that Kleavor will charge towards the player, while the second is that it will perform the Rock-type move Stone Axe, which raises jagged rocks from the ground.

While you can throw balms at any point to hurt Kleavor or any other Noble Pokémon, there are a few things you can do to gain an advantage in this battle. Kleavor will charge around the Grandtree Area. Use dodge-rolling at the right time to stun this Pokémon in smashing into a wall. Check the Pokémon’s glowing eyes, this will make it easy to determine when will Kleavor is going to attack.

This gives you the option of throwing one of your companion Pokémon at Kleavor to start a battle. Depleting Kleavor’s health bar will briefly disarm it, allowing you to freely toss a large number of balms during this time. To win this Noble Pokémon duel, repeat these procedures until Kleavor’s frenzied health bar is drained.
