John Welfare from Install Base, a forum dedicated to video game sales data has revealed that PS5 hardware and game sales in May have been “a bit crazy” compared to April.
“Compared to April, PS5 has been a bit crazy for some reason,” John tweeted. “Maybe it got new shipments in some regions. The Spider-Man bundle was at +100 a day for a while but just shot up to +1000.”
Tweeting about Xbox he shared, “Series X was doing +500 a day while at $449. Now it’s fallen a bit after going back to $499.”
For the week of May 5-12, the $499 PS5 Slim Spider-Man 2 Bundle was the 20th best selling item on Amazon US, selling over 52,000 units.
- The Switch Neon sold around 43,000 units at 29th position,
- at 64th, the PS5 Slim Digital Edition sold 27,000 units,
- at 75th, people bought over 23,000 units of the PS5 Slim,
- and the Xbox Series S Starter Bundle sold over 23,000 units, standing at 79th position.
At GameStop
- the PS5 Slim Digital Edition remains the best-selling item for a consecutive week,
- followed by the PS5 Slim,
- Xbox Series X,
- and the Nintendo Switch OLED White.
Over at Target, people bought
- the Xbox Series X the most,
- followed by the Switch Neon,
- and PS5 Slim for the week.
Best Buy’s top-seller for the week was
- the PS5 Slim,
- followed by the PS5 Slim Digital Edition,
- and the Xbox Series X.
Comparing these figures with that of April 7-14 for Amazon US,
- the PS5 Slim Spider-Man 2 Bundle sold around 47,000 units standing at 14th position,
- the Switch Neon sold over 34,000 units at 28th,
- the PS5 Slim Digital Edition sold over 21,000 units at 52nd,
- the Xbox Series S Starter Bundle sold over 20,000 units at 62nd,
- the PS5 Slim sold over 15,000 units at 99th,
- and the Xbox Series X sold over 15,000 units at 100th.
