PS5 Sold 7.8 Million Units In FY2021
During a semiconductor shortage and a global pandemic, Sony has managed to sell over 7.8 million units of the PlayStation 5 in FY2021, i.e., as of March 31, 2021.
Sony has shipped and sold 3.3 million units in the past quarter alone. The demand, still, remains much higher than the supply.
For reference, during the same timeframe, the PS4 sold 7.6 million units.
Ending March 31, 2021, over 338.9 million games were sold for the PS4 and the PS5. This includes both packaged and digital copies. 65% or 220 million were digital sales, and 17% or 58.4 million were Sony’s first-party games.
