Qualcomm, Razer’s G3X, Paving Way To Better Handheld Gaming Devices?
The Nintendo Switch’s hybrid concept has had a lasting influence on the video gaming industry. A good example is Valve’s new portable system, Steam Deck, which is based on the same concept of being able to play on both the console and a monitor or television, as well as Qualcomm’s recently announced portable console in conjunction with Razer.
In the case of the latter, everything points to it being a streaming game console, despite the fact that it has more than obvious architectural parallels to the Nintendo console and would have television output in addition to being able to play Android titles.
Razer starts shipping kits to developers
According to The Verge, this new portable console might be the start of a new wave of devices with comparable features to the Nintendo hybrid. Furthermore, the medium has exclusively published new statements from Razer regarding the project.
In general, we know that interested developers can register for a kit on Razer’s website since yesterday, albeit the firm has emphasized that it is not their product.
“This is not a Razer hardware announcement. The Snapdragon G3x developer kit is a Qualcomm device… Working together with Qualcomm in this collaborative partnership, we aim to bring more publishers and developers to the table and achieve our joint vision for creating the future of portable gaming.”

“We’re really just focusing on the developer community right now… The devices are really up to the OEM in terms of when they can go out.”
– Micah Knapp, Sr. Director Product Management of Qualcomm
