Reasons to watch the German anti-war masterpiece
Even in this day and age, films like All Quiet on the Western Front serve as a disturbing reminder of man’s barbarism when it comes to war. Mankind can never be too far away from conflict and violence, and war is always an imminent threat. The film puts us in the perspective of World War soldiers right in the middle of their blood ridden battlefield.
'All Quiet On the Western Front', is possibly the only truly anti war film I think I have ever seen. No heroic deeds, no journeys, no stirring score, no nobility, no survivors, just endless, pointless, horrific, death.
It's spectacularly brilliant.
