Resident Evil Village Coming to Xbox Game Pass?

Rumors are spreading that the latest installment in the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil Village will be coming to Xbox Game Pass.

Reddit user “kacperq” spotted what looks like to be a hint or a leak from a Polish website XGP.pl. When translated, the text in the red box means “included in Game Pass”. Though it was taken out immediately, a screenshot already spread across the internet.

Resident Evil Village was Capcom’s biggest release in 2021 which gathered mixed reactions from the gaming community. But, since its release, it already received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the fans. It has even won the Game of the Year from the annual Steam Awards last year.

If the rumor is true, this AAA game could be the newest title to join Microsoft’s popular Xbox Game Pass service. RE Village will join Xbox Game Pass’ recent additions like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, F1 2021, Crusader Kings 2, and more.

What is Xbox Game Pass?

Xbox Game Pass is similar to a PC Game Pass. Both of these are Microsoft video game services subscriptions. Also, both services grant users access to a rotating catalog of games from a range of publishers and other premium services, including Xbox Live Gold and EA Play, all for a monthly subscription.

Aside from the rumors of the game joining the Xbox Game Pass service, Capcom is already planning to add Downloadable Content to the game. The DLCs are set to be released sometime this year.

If the leak is true, we will finally be enjoying Resident Evil Village and “Lady Dimitrescu” in the Game Pass soon. Maybe even before the DLCs get out, or maybe not.
