In the middle of the controversial feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, a scary incident took place on Tuesday at the former’s home in Toronto. The police quickly responded to a call about a shooting at Drake’s mansion in The Bridle Path that reportedly left an unnamed man injured. However, fans and the whole rap community are thinking what everybody is thinking … Is this connected to the beef he has with Lamar?
Drake is safe from the shooting
Fortunately, it was not Drake who got shot. According to Toronto City News, the authorities came to the scene, but the assailant had already fled via car. The police have no suspects so far. Meanwhile, paramedics have rushed the injured man to the hospital, who reportedly is part of Drake’s security personnel. The victim suffered gunshot wounds to the chest, but fortunately, they were not life-threatening.
The cops have already taped off the crime scene, and investigations are still ongoing. Information about whether Drake was at home or not has not yet been shared with the public. Meanwhile, the Canadian rapper has not responded to the media yet. Additionally, it’s unclear if Drake was at home during the incident.
Drake seemed to have lost the weeks-long rap battle against Kendrick Lamar, but the ramifications aren’t over for the Grammy-winning rapper. The 37-year-old has been trolled in different ways, one of which is the incident where one of his OVO stores in London got vandalized. He’s also receiving a lot of hate online, not to mention that he’s also now in the middle of a terrifying dilemma (i.e. the shooting at Drake’s mansion).
Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us” features Drake’s mansion
Kendrick Lamar dropped his most recent diss track, “Not Like Us”, which featured verses where the Compton lyricist accused Drake of being a p*edophile.
However, another bizarre thing Kendrick did was attach an aerial photo of Drake’s mansion as the cover for the said song. But, even without that, the address of this $100 million estate is already known to many fans.
Despite the heat of the moment, there is no clear evidence that the beef between Drake and Kendrick has anything to do with the shooting incident. Some internet users believe this was staged by Drake, while there are also others who believe K-dot tried to “off” Drake with an unknown crew. Regardless, Drake’s beef with Kendrick is probably one of the biggest hip-hop feuds of all time.
