Steam Deck Production To Ramp Up April 2022

By next month, Valve forecasts that Steam Deck production will gradually increase in its second month. Their plans involve producing “hundreds of thousands” Steam Decks to accommodate the high demand for the device even before its release.

In a previous article, we have reported that Q1 reservers will be accommodated throughout the month of March. They can send their order confirmations every Monday before Valve will focus on those in the Q2 reservation window. They were quite vague at first on when Q2 reservers will be able to order.

Valve UX Designer reveals plans to increase production of Steam Deck by April

In IGN’s latest next-gen console watch interview with Lawrence Yang (Valve UX Designer), he revealed their plans to “ramp in production terms” the long-awaited device. According to Yang, “In the first month we’ll be in the tens of thousands, by the second month we’ll be in the hundreds of thousands.”

Those in the Q2 reservation window can breathe a sigh of relief because, with this news, it seems they won’t be waiting too long for their own Steam Deck. Yang went on to discuss the supply chain issues they encountered last year. It can be remembered that these issues ultimately caused the Steam Deck’s initial release for December 2021. But Yang assured that Valve is “surmounting them.”

If this is true, then it won’t be long until the device’s production will ramp up in the coming days. This will help pre-ordering move quicker and allow gaming enthusiasts to get their hands on the Steam Deck.
