Titanfall To Be Permanently Removed From Stores
When it was released, Titanfall was a fairly new adventure for both the developers and players. It was a multiplayer-only game, intertwining the story with matchmaking. Titanfall was, and still is, a core part of Respawn Entertainment.
ISSUES FACED BY TITANFALL
- The popular series was not free from issues. Titanfall has been subject to several issues, with hacking being the primary cause for concern. Further, both Titanfall and Titanfall 2 have been facing multiple DDOS attacks.
- These caused the games’ servers to crash causing the games to be unplayable for most players. Rumors that the DDOS attacks could harm players’ PC health were also going around. However, Respawn disproved these rumors. This resulted in “mostly negative” reviews on Steam.
- Respawn has been in an unending battle with hackers since the attacks. However, it gave players a ray of hope this year. In April, it told fans that “help is coming”, but the situation only worsened from then.
- Moreover, in July, Community Co-ordinator Jason Garza stated that the demands of personnel for Apex Legends had resulted in just a couple of people still working on Titanfall’s support.
ORIGINAL TITANFALL REMOVED FROM SALES
Following these events, Respawn Entertainment has finally decided to remove the original Titanfall game from stores. The studio did not provide any specific reason for this. However, it does seem logical when we look at its focus on Apex Legends in addition to the long battle against hackers.

The game has been taken off sale since yesterday. The subscription services for Titanfall will be unavailable on the 1st of March, 2022. However, the game’s servers will be kept online. This is “for the dedicated fanbase still playing and those who own the game and are looking to drop into a match.”
