Under 19 Cricket World Cup 2022: India Headed To Finals!

The Under 19 Indian cricket team has defeated Australia to enter into the final for the eighth time and fourth in a row. Now India will lock horns with England in the summit clash on February 5 in Antigua.

It was a do-or-die match for both teams.  Firstly India had opted to bat and gave a target of 290/5. The captain, Yash Dhull scored a fabulous century and led the team from the front.  Shaik Rasheed who scored 94 missed a well-deserved century. The partnership between Dhull and Rasheed was a game-changing point of the match.

The run chase wasn’t going to be easy for Australians.

As a result, Australia got off to a shaky start losing in-form opener Teague Wyllie on 1. Following his dismissal, Campbell Kellaway and Corey Miller showed some resistance before Angkrish Raghuvanshi put an end to their show by trapping Miller LBW on 38(46).

Kellaway too departed soon on 30(53) and ever since his dismissal. The Australian players were facing a lot of problems against the mighty bowling of India. So, Australia kept losing wickets at regular intervals. A direct hit by RS Hangargekar brings an end to Tom Whitney’s cameo and that will be wicket number 10. Australia is all-out for 194 in 41.5 overs as India wins the match by 96 runs.

It has become a trend in the past few years that India always qualifies for the finals. The boys in blue played really very well. Now we have to wait for 5th February to watch the final against England. Let’s pray that India again wins the final for the 6th time!
