PHIVOLCS Update

Aside from the #WalangPasok announcements, know the latest update on the Taal Volcano, too. In the recently released 24-hour observation from PHIVOLCS-DOST, the Taal Volcano is still under Alert Level 1. The agency also mentioned the pronounced upwelling of hot volcanic fluids in the Main Crater lake. The VOG has reached numerous parts of Batangas, and some parts of CALABARZON.

PHIVOLCS also stated that entry into Taal Volcano Island, which is a Permanent Danger Zone, is prohibited. This includes occupancy and boating around Taal. Moreover, flying aircraft is not allowed.

The agency further wrote about some possible hazards that could happen during the day or the next few days. For preventive health safety, wear a mask to avoid inhaling smog or sulfur dioxide.
