Wednesday Season 2 drops Release Date; Plot + All Confirmed Cast

Netflix Wednesday Season 2

Jenna Ortega is all set to return as the iconic Wednesday Addams in the second season of Netflix’s landmark hit series’ Wednesday.’ The show’s unique flavor of dark comedy and aesthetics was a refreshing addition to the streaming giant’s catalog. With Wednesday Season 2, Netflix hopes the show will replace Stranger Things, which is nearing its conclusion. Let’s take a look at what we know so far about Wednesday Season 2, including release date, plot details, and all confirmed cast members.

Release date and plot details for Wednesday Season 2

Ever since Wednesday Season 2 was announced, fans have been eagerly awaiting an update on the show’s release date. However, production came to a halt when the WGA and SAG-AFTRA went on strike against the AMPTP.

Now that the protesting parties have just recently brought the strikes to an end, Wednesday Season 2 could be near completion this year and released in the first half of 2024. Netflix will soon announce the official release date.

As for the plot, the Season 1 finale left Wednesday facing a variety of antagonists like the ominous presence of the Hyde or the unidentified stalker sending her threatening texts and creepy photos.

Showrunner Miles Millar reminded fans that not all loose ends have been neatly tied up. This will set the stage for more mysteries and dark humor in the upcoming season.

Wednesday also took over social media platforms like TikTok by storm, with over 22 billion views for #WednesdayAddams. Of course, the Wednesday dance trend needs little to no introduction to anyone on the internet. Even Lady Gaga jumped on the trend.

The soundtrack blew up on iTunes, taking the No. 1 position on the charts. Jenna Ortega skyrocketed to fame and became a pop culture icon as a teen scream queen and even went on to host a Saturday Night Live episode.
