What to play in Xbox Game Pass this August? – Ranked

Hey, players! We’re back with another list to guide you in your gaming life. Are you interested in new games to play on your Xbox Game Pass? Well, we’ll walk you through our ranking for games you can play this August on Xbox Game Pass. Following the announcement of Xbox losing its ten best games, you may want to know other options as to what to play next. If there are any of the games that interest you, you can purchase the game now. Some games leave the game pass on August 31, by the way. Let’s now start!

Games to leave in the game pass

Speaking of games to plasome games bidbid goodbye to the game pass at the end of August. Unfortunately, ten games leave the game library of the said paid subscription application, according to Microsoft. These games include the following:

  • Elite Dangerous
  • Hades
  • Myst
  • NBA 2K22
  • Signs of the Sojourner
  • Spiritfarer
  • Twelve Minutes
  • Two Point Hospital
  • What Remains of Edith Finch
  • World War Z

Additionally, there are a few games that already left the game pass library (last August 15), here as follows:

  • Boyfriend Dungeon
  • Curse of the Dead Gods
  • Library of Ruina
  • Train Sim World 2

However, upon these games’ removal, there are still more PC games deep in the Xbox Game Pass library that you may want to try out. We’ll list a few games here that may be aligned with your liking. Proceed to read below!

Cooking Simulator

Firstly, adding to our ranked list is this Cooking Simulator. This single-player cooking game brings you a realistic kitchen experience all while using your Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. Cooking Simulator offers a full-time job as a chef with 120 ingredients to use and 60 recipes to play (or experiment) with.

  • Also, there are modes to choose from in the game! Play the Career Mode if you prefer a progressive style, and follow your journey as a culinary chef to bring your restaurant to the top. While you may opt for the Sandbox Mode when just want to play around, have unlimited cooking, and just enjoy the game. However, you can also push yourself to be the best chef when you play the Leaderboard Challenge. This 2020 game is developed and published by Big Cheese Studio.

  • Xbox provides the Cooking Simulator‘s capabilities as well: 4K Ultra HD, single-player, Xbox One X Enhanced, Xbox achievements, Xbox cloud saves, and Xbox live.

PowerWash Simulator

Next, you may enjoy another simulator but this time, outside the kitchen. PowerWash Simulator, based on its title, is a cleaning simulator and kind of like an ASMR with the sound of high-pressure water. The game is made available for platforms like PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

  • Furthermore, you may play the Career Mode where you ready your water hose and clean the requests and tasks around the dusty Muckingham town. Well, if you want to just chill out and clean what you want and can, you may choose Free Play. If you’re feeling quite competitive, you may choose to play in Challenge Mode where you experience different scenarios. While you may also try the Time Challenge to test your accuracy in this water challenge.

  • Moreover, Xbox lists the PowerWash Simulator’s capabilities: Online co-op and can be played solo too, 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, Variable Refresh Rate, Xbox cross-platform co-op, and Xbox live cross-gen multiplayer. Also, it is capable of 60 fps+, optimized for Xbox Series X|S, Smart Delivery, PC GamePad, Xbox achievements, Xbox cloud saves, and Xbox live.

INSIDE

Up next to our list is a platformer, action-adventure game entitled INSIDE. If you are into dark, thrillers, and intense puzzles and challenges, this one is for you. However, when you play the game make sure you are of legal age since the INSIDE includes materials like blood and other mature themes.

  • Xbox describes the game as “Discover Playdead’s unique indie adventure game Inside, a dark, narrative-driven platformer combining intense action with challenging puzzles. It has received critical acclaim for its moody art style, ambient soundtrack, and unsettling atmosphere.The game’s animations and gameplay would leave you in awe, as the game received numerous awards.

  • Play the game on PC, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, INSIDE‘s capable of single-playing, PC GamePad, Xbox achievements, Xbox cloud saves, and Xbox live.

The Outer Worlds

Another single-player game comes to our list with The Outer Worlds. This science fantasy, the role-playing game brings you to explore space. Reach the ends of the galaxy and have the fate of everyone in Halcyon with your decisions. The game is available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

  • The Outer Worlds welcomes you to the future. You may build your character in this RP, and lead your crew or companions, each with different abilities, out to accomplish their missions. Be ready to search through settlements and your ship, and other map locations in the region of Halcyon.

  • The 2019 released game offers the following capabilities on Xbox: 4K Ultra HD, single-player, Cloud-enabled, Xbox One X Enhanced, Xbox achievements, Xbox presence, and Xbox live.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Next on our games to play on Xbox Game Pass is from the famous series Star Wars, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The game can be played on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Be ready to explore this galaxy adventure offered by Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment.

  • Significantly, if you’re a fan of the Star Wars series, you may want to try this out. You play as a Jedi Padawan in the game. Are you sure you can take on the quest of rebuilding the Jedi Order? Additionally, face combat battles and use the iconic lightsaber to defeat your enemies! Attend Jedi training to strengthen your character, continue your journey of mystery-solving and let the story begin.

  • The Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order dropped in November 2019. The game is capable of the following: 4K Ultra HD HDR10, single-player, and 60 fps+. It can also be optimized for Xbox Series X|S, Smart Delivery, and Cloud-enabled. Lastly, capable of Xbox One X Enhanced, Xbox achievements, Xbox presence, Xbox clubs, Xbox cloud saves, and Xbox live.

Grounded

As we near the end of our list, we’ll recommend Grounded which is yet to set foot on Xbox Game Pass. Although there is no official date of release, you may still want to try this out. The newest game is still in its works, and you may want to purchase it if you’re comfortable with that.

  • Certainly, Grounded offers an immersive world where you see how insects act and react. Given the idea of insects’ lives, this is a survival game where you must build and secure yourselves from insects who will attempt to attack you. Keep three friends at most in this journey with you, or brave the world of Grounded alone. Be ready to explore the world, we mean the backyards.

  • This Xbox Game Studios’ own is available for play for single-player, online co-op (2-4), and Xbox cross-platform co-op. Also, capable of 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, Variable Refresh Rate, 60 fps+, and optimized for Xbox Series X|S.  The game is also capable of Smart Delivery, Console Keyboard & Mouse, PC GamePad, Cloud-enabled, Xbox One X Enhanced, Xbox presence, Xbox clubs, Xbox cloud saves, Xbox Play Anywhere, and Xbox live.

Minecraft

Lastly, running for first in our list is Microsoft Studio’s own, Minecraft. The game can be played via Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Well, there’s a version as well for Windows, PlayStation, Nintendo, and mobile playing, just so you know! You can freely create anything you like and build with others in Minecraft. The game is open for family play too!

  • Certainly, this game gained many positive reviews over the years. Xbox describes the game as “Explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles. Play in creative mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armor to fend off the dangerous mobs. Scale craggy mountains, unearth elaborate caves, and mine large ore veins. Discover lush cave and dripstone cave biomes. Light up your world with candles to show what a savvy spelunker and master mountaineer you are!

  • This 2017 released game can be played via Xbox local co-op, online co-op, Xbox local multiplayer, online multiplayer, Xbox cross-platform multiplayer, and single-playing. Also, Minecraft‘s capable of shared or split screen, Xbox cross-platform co-op, Xbox achievements, Xbox presence, Xbox clubs, Xbox cloud saves, and Xbox live.
