Filipino represent! Filipino-American rapper Ez Mil takes on greater heights as he signs with the music label under rap legends Eminem and Dr. Dre. The young rapper has been carving a name for himself in the industry and now, he will be under the wings of two of the best musicians in the world. Rapper Ez Mil now joins renowned musicians Eminem and Dr. Dre
Ez Mil proudly announced on his official Instagram account that he has signed with Eminem’s Shady Records and Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment. Moreover, the 25-year-old rap artist will also be under contract with Interscope Records who handle both Em and Dre. With this, he joins another legend, 50 Cent, who also signed with all three label records.
Five months ago, in February, Ez Mil released a song titled “Up Down (Step & Walk)” under his DU4LI7Y single that caught the attention of Eminem
The video immediately gathered attention and millions of views on YouTube. Some avid rap fans who heard it were quick to notice how similar Ez Mil’s style is to Marshall Mathers a.k.a Eminem. This prompted a series of positive domino effects that resulted in a great opportunity for the young artist. A month later, the song reached Eminem and after he heard it, he was left in awe and mesmerized by Ez Mil’s talents.
Because of that, Ez Mil drove from Las Vegas to Los Angeles and met with the real slim shady himself, Eminem, together with another hip hop icon, Dr. Dre. The three had a wonderful meeting and both Dr. Dre and Eminem were impressed. To cut the story short, Ez Mil finally seals the deal with Dre and Eminem’s music labels.
“We’ve never been out there signing a lot of artists, and one of the great things about how we built Shady is how selective we’ve been,” said Eminem in a statement. “And it’s even rarer that Dre and I sign something together – but I heard Ez’s music and was like, ‘this is really special’ so I took it to Dre. We both agreed it would be a great fit and we wanted to work with him right on the spot.”
On the other hand, Dr. Dre added, “I’m really only interested in working on shit that sounds different from anything else going on out there, and only then if I feel I can really bring something to it. Em played me Ez and I had that feeling…that thing that happens when we both know we’ve found something special. And that was it….let’s get to work.”

Who is Ez Mil?
Ez Mil is a Filipino-American rising rap artist. Born Ezekiel Miller on July 27, 1998, in Olongapo City, Philippines, Ez Mil would be set to become another musician in the family. His father is no other than Paul Sapiera, who was famously known as the vocalist of the ’80s Filipino rock band called RockStar. The group was known for beloved songs like “Mahal Pa Rin Kita” and “Parting Time” which are still being remembered to this day. Meanwhile, Ezekiel’s mother, Hazel Miller, also worked in the music industry for some time.
Miller is very Filipino for he was born and raised in the Philippines
In addition to that. he stayed in the country for most of his years and studied college there. After graduating from high school, he moved to Baguio to study architecture but dropped out after a year and a half. He moved to Urdaneta City in Pangasinan for another two years before leaving for the U.S., where he lived in Seattle, California, and Las Vegas, which he now calls home. His career started in 2019 and immediately took off in 2021 when he released the song “Panalo”. Miller’s performance in the Wish USA Bus had the internet buzzing mainly because of how amazing of a rapper he is and his historically inaccurate verse stating LapuLapu was beheaded. The rapper made rounds on the internet, but was nonetheless accepted by his Filipino fans.
As mentioned, Ez Mil is now based in Las Vegas and still keeps in touch with his father. After signing with Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment, and Interscope Records, Ez Mill is expected to take off even more. Furthermore, Ez Mil will be releasing his final project with his former label, Virgin Music, called DU4LI7Y: REDUX. It will be released on August 11, 2023.
