K-pop queens made another history today by headlining a major UK show. BLACKPINK performed an enchanting set at BST Hyde Park in front of an enormous crowd of 65,000 fans. Many traveled halfway across the ocean to catch their set and weren’t disappointed with the electrifying performance.
While the BST concert featured many tried and tested artists such as Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, and The Strokes, BLACKPINK added adventure to the line-up. The four-member girl group stopped by the show during their world tour and made the festival circuit a part of it. Here are some highlights of their lively performances.

BLACKPINK opened with two of their most acclaimed songs, Pink Venom and How You Like That. The stage drowned in pink lights with blackthorns creeping on the video wall behind painted the show in their brand’s colors and promised an immersive set.
- The sweet melodies and voices, mixing with the pop hook and EDM, soon left the audience in a frenzy. The group brought alive the first 20 minutes with their stomping anthems and then broke into a chair choreography for Pretty Savage. The four ladies draped in white looked nothing less than angelic.
Solo stages

Following the mesmerizing star, the show progressed into the artistic middle that showcased the individual musical identities of the four members. The multi-talented Jennie, who recently mesmerized fans through co-starring in the HBO series The Idol, performed a snippet of her new track You & Me and her chart-bursting single SOLO. The enchanting Jisoo captured the audience with her sweetheart-doe-eyed song FLOWER.
- Meanwhile, the group’s celebrated songwriter Rosé allured with her vocal range while performing Gone and On The Ground. The group’s maknae and lead rapper Lisa lead with her in-your-face hip-hop track MONEY before breaking into a new voguing dance break.

The world-renowned K-pop girl group, already known for their lyricism, untied for the high-octave third act that established what BLACKPINK offers on the world stage. The group brought back their summer tunes of Lovesick Girls and the exceptionally catchy Shut Down.
- However, the highlight that encompassed the audience was Tally, introduced as a ‘very special song’ by Rosé. It established what liberated and made them one of the leading girl groups of the third generation in the K-pop industry.
Euphoric ending

The show that BLACKPINK painted with their name ended with their debatably most popular track DDU-DU DDU-DU. The fans joined the tunes with perfect lyrics breaking any shackles of the language barrier. This energetic show drove towards the finale with the euphoric melody of Forever Young, at the once satisfying and erupting desire for more.
- Another point that is worth a note is that the BST Hyde Park setlist included a completely new formation, including the older and more recent releases. Although the group did perform part of it during the Coachella last April, they still had much to offer through this set.

BLACKPINK’s seven-year contract with YG Entertainment will expire sometime next month, and reports say that the members might renew with their agency to continue promoting as four. As a result, this high-end performance not only set a challenge for festivals like Coachella and BST but also provided a glimpse of the second innings of the group. It will be interesting to see what BLACKPINK have planned for the future while BST Hyde Park indisputably added to their legacy.
