I honestly believe that Tower of Fantasy will forever be compared to Genshin Impact, the top-selling gacha game released in the last decade. Aside from the similarities they have in terms of gameplay (minus the MMO part), there seem to be Genshin Impact alter-egos in Tower of Fantasy. Gamers who have already played Genshin Impact before moving on to Tower of Fantasy know some of the characters I’m talking about.
In my first few days of playing Tower of Fantasy, I immediately felt like I recognized some of the characters there. One of the most recognizable characters is King, the red-headed man in charge of the brawls in Tower of Fantasy. Seeing him reminded me of a certain redhead who owns The Dawn Winery in Teyvat.
That got me thinking… if Diluc and King ever faced off against each other, who would win? Who would come out the strongest? Thus, this article was born. Here, I’ll be comparing Genshin Impact alter-egos in Tower of Fantasy and weighing who’s the stronger one.
Genshin Impact characters versus their alter-egos in Tower of Fantasy
The characters included in this comparison were chosen based on their personality, character design, and element. These are also the factors that will determine who’s the stronger one between the two. Without further ado, let’s start!

1. King vs. Diluc
This is obviously the first pairing on the list. I don’t think it was just me who noticed how similar King’s character design is to Diluc’s.
- Both characters have red hair
- They wear black outfits
- King and Diluc have the power to control Fire
However, there is a stark difference in terms of the characters’ personalities. Diluc presents himself as a brooding gentleman who wants nothing but to avenge his father’s death. He is usually quiet and likes to keep to himself, adding to the mysterious persona he has.
As for King, he is introduced in Tower of Fantasy as a brash and hotheaded man. King does not mince his words; if he doesn’t like something, he’ll definitely let you know with no hesitations whatsoever. Despite being a good fighter, King usually doesn’t have any money which is another difference he has from Diluc.
Diluc is immediately introduced to us as one of the richest figures in Teyvat. That would only be natural seeing as he’s the owner of The Dawn Winery.
Who’s stronger?
Bias aside, Diluc is certainly the stronger one between him and King. If we put the two in a ring together, trust that Diluc will find a way to counter all of King’s attacks. Remember one of the first quests we had in Genshin Impact? The one where we were trying to find who the Darknight Hero was? To refresh your memory, that was Diluc.
We also get to know that following his father’s death, Diluc temporarily gave up his Vision. He took down various Fatui strongholds without the aid of his Vision. This feat was impressive enough to get the attention of the Fatui Harbingers themselves, who were getting concerned about Diluc’s attacks on them.
If he was able to do that without the help of his Vision at all, it’s no question that Diluc may be a hundred times stronger and more powerful now that he has his Vision.
Sorry, King, but Diluc takes the crown for now.

2. Rei vs. Xiao
Okay, okay, we know what you’re thinking. How can Rei, a literal teenager, face up against a yaksha such as Xiao? In terms of character design, I would’ve loved to pit Zhongli against Rei but that would be a bit unfair for him. Rei will definitely not stand a chance against the Lord of Geo himself.
- As for Xiao… well, they both have a “get sh*t done” mentality which is impressive for a teenager like Rei.
- He’s also mysterious like our favorite green-haired, emo yaksha.
- Being very well-versed in computers, Rei did himself the favor of erasing all data related to him including his real name and personal information.
See? They’re not so different after all! Well.. except for the fact that Xiao’s probably banished tons of demons while Rei has, what? Banished tons of viruses? Kidding. Of course, Rei’s knowledge in tech definitely gives him the upper hand if he and Xiao ever had to duel against each other in the modern world. But who would really win?
Who’s stronger?
Is it that obvious already? Of course, Xiao is going to win over Rei. Who would even dare fight against a yaksha as powerful as Xiao? Don’t be quick to forget that he literally banishes demons in his spare time. And in Genshin Impact, banishing demons can have severe consequences such as death or insanity.
The most obvious proof of Xiao’s power is the fact that out of all the yakshas, he’s the only one who’s still alive and sane. Maybe we can give Rei a few more years but for now, Xiao is definitely stronger.

3. Hane vs. Ganyu
Just look at Hane’s design and tell me that’s not Ganyu minus the horns and the light-colored outfit. Both characters have the ability to control Ice (or Cryo, for Genshin Impact players) and both of them use bows as their weapons. The difference between Hane and Ganyu is their personalities, which I think may determine who is the stronger one here.
Much like Ganyu, Hane has been molded into the fighter that she is today thanks to her experience over the years.
- She formerly worked for Hykros, then became a Hyena officer and now, she’s part of the Heirs of Aida.
- Meanwhile, Ganyu serves as the secretary of the Liyue Qixing.
- Most of the work she does here mainly involves resolving disputes or handling paperwork. She really doesn’t have any time to practice being a fighter again like she was during the Archon War where she fought alongside Rex Lapis.
Unlike Ganyu, Hane is definitely in better fighting shape due to her experience over the years that she’s been active. Hane is also known to be quite a thrill seeker herself whereas Ganyu is more on the softer side.
Who’s stronger?
I’m sorry, Genshin fam, but I’ll have to give the title over to Hane. If it weren’t for Ganyu taking a hiatus from training as she tries to fit into the human world, she’d definitely be the stronger one here. But of course, we can’t have everything we want.
Hane is undeniably skilled with what she does, considering that she’s literally been working nonstop. This is similar to what Ganyu has been doing, only Ganyu’s work is focused more on office work. In one of the quests in Genshin Impact, we actually see that Ganyu isn’t as powerful as she used to be mainly because she hasn’t been focused on training.

4. Pei Pei vs. Barbara
Both Pei Pei (AKA Pepper) and Barbara are known healers in these two rivaling gacha games. The two of them also come from their own rich families but the difference is, Pei Pei’s parents were affected by the aberration.
- For those who don’t know what aberration is, it’s basically people in Tower of Fantasy becoming zombie-like creatures called Aberrants.
Barbara is one of the first healer units introduced to Travelers in Genshin Impact but we haven’t really seen anything impressive in terms of her strength.
- Sure, her sister is Jean, the Acting Grandmaster of the Knights of Favonius.
- But it’s obvious Barbara didn’t learn much fighting skills from Jean.
- Otherwise, she’d be kicking Hilichurl butt in Mondstadt.
As for Pei Pei, what keeps her going is the fact that she doesn’t want her parents’ deaths to be in vain. Since their passing, she’s been working in the medical department of Hykros to try and figure out how to reverse aberration.
Who’s stronger?
Even though Barbara’s become one of my most beloved characters in Genshin Impact since I first started playing, Pei Pei is obviously stronger than her. As I mentioned, Barbara spends most of her time at the church in Mondstadt instead of training like Jean.
If we’re basing on healing capabilities to determine who is stronger, I’d still have to go with Pei Pei. Once she succeeds in finding a way to reverse aberration, it’ll be over for Barbara. I mean, anyone who reverses something similar to death like aberration should be considered powerful/strong, right?
Sorry, Barbara. The show will begin, but Pei Pei takes the main stage this time.

5. Crow vs. Razor
Everyone’s favorite wolf boy, Razor, has a few similarities with Crow from Tower of Fantasy. They both have the power to control electricity (Volt in ToF, Electro in Genshin). The difference is that Crow loves cats while Razor… can we call him a wolf? He was raised by wolves so technically, that makes him a wolf, too? Right?
Anyway, the differences between both characters lie mostly in their personalities and combat skills.
- Razor wields a Claymore weapon and he’s considered a DMG dealer in Genshin Impact team comps
- Crow is an assassin who uses dual blades to take out anyone who gets in the way
If we take into consideration the fact that Razor was raised by wolves, maybe he can square up against Crow in terms of assassin capabilities. Though there is the fact that Razor wields a huge weapon whereas Crow only uses dual blades.
I hate to do my boy Razor dirty but…
Who’s stronger?
I’m sorry, Razor, but I think Crow is stronger than you. His cunningness makes him the perfect assassin, and you really don’t want to stand in the way of an assassin like Crow. Sure, Razor can take him one-on-one, but can his heavy Claymore give him the dub over Crow?
It’s also worth noting that Crow is described as “faster than the lightning he wields.” and since he is also cunning, he can easily map out a plan to take down Razor in one swift move.
Genshin Impact alter-egos in Tower of Fantasy – Special Mentions
Those are the five Genshin Impact characters with alter-egos in Tower of Fantasy. I personally believe there are more characters, I just haven’t found the right points to compare each of them against the other. But I do believe there are some Tower of Fantasy NPCs who are similar to some of the main characters in Genshin Impact.

Mi-a vs. Paimon
There is definitely no denying that Mi-a is Tower of Fantasy’s version of Paimon. The differences between these two are the following:
- Mi-a is a robot who’s not in the best shape
- Paimon is a flying companion with the stomach of a large, burly man
- Unlike Paimon, Mi-a is quiet most of the time and doesn’t talk your ear off
If we’d pit them against each other and try figuring out who’s stronger, I’d have to go with Paimon. I mean, have you seen those theories about Paimon being the final boss in Genshin Impact? It may sound crazy but trust me, some of those theories make sense!
The only way Mi-a comes out stronger than Paimon is if someone in Tower of Fantasy upgrades Mi-a’s systems and equips her with all of the latest tech. But for now, our emergency food is obviously stronger than Mi-a.

Shirli vs. Amber
Was I the only one who felt like I was talking to Amber when Shirli is introduced to us in Tower of Fantasy? At the start of Genshin Impact, it’s Amber who immediately welcomes us to the city of Mondstadt and shows us around. That’s basically what Shirli did at the beginning of Tower of Fantasy.
We learn about the basics of the world through both of these characters so it’s no wonder most players see their similarities.
- One of the differences they do have is that Shirli is not a playable character in Tower of Fantasy.
- Meanwhile, Amber is one of the first few units you’ll get to recruit on your team.
From what I’ve observed so far, Amber is definitely stronger than Shirli. I mean, other than the fact that Shirli got affected by the aberration and may be as good as dead by now, Amber seems like a more skilled fighter than Shirli.
We also get to see Amber’s fighting and gliding skills in action at the start of our journey in Genshin Impact. Still, it’d be interesting to see these two fight it out. Just as long as Shirli miraculously recovers from the aberration, that is.
