Jacob Elordi’s Bath Water Candle won the red carpet

Golden Globes 2024 was a star-studded event with many fashion statements that have become the talk of the town including Gillian Anderson’s ivory gown delicately embroidered with vaginas. However, the winner of the red carpet was Jacob Elordi‘s Candle.

This viral collectible item is inspired by Elordi’s controversial bathtub scene in Saltburn (IFYYK) and Entertainment Tonight brought one to the red carpet. Many celebrities including America Ferrera, Rosamund Pike, and Margot Robbie got a chance to take a whiff of the scene.

Taylor Swift sipped away Jo Koy’s speech

Jo Koy, a comedian known for his several Netflix Special hosted this year’s Golden Globes. He began the show with a long speech roasting actors, TV shows, and movies. However, netizens enjoyed the audience’s reactions to him more than the script.

At one point, he joked that the difference between the NFL and Golden Globes is that the camera at the award show wouldn’t spin to Taylor Swift as often. The Enchanted singer adorned in sparkly green sipped away this joke with an unamused expression that went viral.

Announcement of the ‘Most Boring Body Swap Movie’

The Hollywood Reporter was in a hurry to share the first glimpse of This Is Us star Justin Hartley that they accidentally confused him with Glen Powell. The Anyone But You star didn’t let this opportunity miss and roasted the outlet on X (formerly known as Twitter).

He wrote that he believes it is the perfect time to announce that he will be starring in the most boring body swap movie of all time along with Justin Hartley. He also tagged the actor but to be honest they do have an uncanny resemblance if you squint enough.

Lily Gladstone Spoke Blackfeet During Her Acceptance Speech

Lily Gladstone won the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for her portrayal of Mollie Burkhart in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. Gladstone opened her acceptance speech speaking in the Blackfeet language, making the historic moment even more iconic.

Netizens celebrated this historical achievement for the Indigenous community while criticizing the cable television and streaming platform for captioning the speech with “speaking a global language.” One of the users promptly reminded everyone that Blackfeet is ‘literally American.

Jennifer Lawrence’s witty mouthing

Another iconic and viral meme of the event was Jennifer Lawrence mouthing ‘If I don’t win, I am leaving’ when the camera spun towards her during the announcement of nominations for Best Actress. The category also included her friend Emma Stone who won the award.

Lawrence celebrated this win with the loudest cheer becoming the ideal celebrity for attending an award show. Many netizens expressed their hopes that she will be approached to host next year’s Golden Globes, while many dreamt of having a friend like her.

Selena Gomez gossiped with Taylor Swift and Keleigh Teller

The fans of Selenore got some new clips and pictures to add to their collection as the two friends mingled with each other. In one of the shots, they are seen running towards each other during the advertisements while in another clip they are seen gossiping with Keleigh Teller.

As per the rumors, Selena Gomez asked for a picture with Timothée Chalamet but his beau Kylie Jenner refused. Even if the three ladies’ talk weren’t as scandalous the netizens still enjoyed their bonding on the award show.

A win for Barbenheimer at Golden Globes 2024

Last be not least, Barbie and Oppenheimer once again faced each other for the awards. Unfortunately, Barbie only won Cinematic and Box Office Achievement awards which many are claiming was a major rob for a celebrated film.

Meanwhile, Oppenheimer won Best Picture Drama, Cillian Murphy won Best Male Actor in Motion Picture, and Christopher Nolan won Best Director. This win also gave us an endearingly pink-nosed Murphy thanks to the showers of kisses from his wife upon his win.

Additionally, the 81st Golden Globe Awards also became the first Hollywood stage to honor Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki for his semi-autobiographical fantasy film The Boy and Heron.

If the highlights of the night made you want to catch the complete award show then it is available to stream on Paramount+ with the Showtime add-on. Its clips will also be available on the official social handles of the event.
