Is Kevin Feige Leaving Marvel for Star Wars? | Fans React

Kevin Feige has been serving as the Marvel Studios president and primary producer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2006. However, rumors have it that the film and TV producer is leaving Marvel after Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027 and is planning to take over the Star Wars franchise.

Amid the reported crisis at Marvel, the studio is said to be making backup plans to lessen the effect or even solve these issues. There are claims that the original Avengers actors may return to the MCU fold to bring back its shine and success. But is it true that Feige will leave after the group’s possible appearance in Secret Wars?

Kevin Feige May Put Focus on Star Wars After Marvel

X (formerly Twitter) user MyTimeToShineHello, a known internet scooper and MCU insider, claimed that Kevin Feige is considering leaving Marvel after Secret Wars and taking over the Star Wars franchise.

Back in 2022, Marvel Studios filed for five trademarks of its films, including Secret Wars. Feige then announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 that the said movie was in development and would be released in November 2025. It was later revealed that the film would be pushed back to 2026 and later to 2027.

Based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, Secret Wars is a sequel to the Avengers movies, including the upcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. It’s the 46th film in the MCU and the final installment of Phase Six and The Multiverse Saga.

So, will this be the last time that Feige oversees Marvel projects? No one really knows. Currently, the Marvel boss and everyone in the company have a lot on their plates, from movies to series and other presentations. Also, it remains to be seen if there will be Phase 7 of MCU, as no projects have been officially announced.

Regarding Feige’s involvement in the Star Wars franchise, he was supposed to develop a movie for the universe of the galaxy far, far away, along with the Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, but their projects were reportedly canned. Details about these said projects were scarce, considering Lucasfilm put its focus on the TV series The Mandalorian and Andor.

That said, Variety claimed that Feige and Jenkins’ respected movies were no longer in development. Though no further details were told about it, Feige was reportedly busy with building the next phase of MCU, while Jenkins had put her focus on other projects.

So far, there’s no known Star Wars project for Feige yet.

Fans react to an Internet Scooper’s Claim about Kevin Feige

MyTimeToShineHello is maybe known for being a reliable source for anything Marvel, but fans are quite divided on his latest claim about Feige. The news was quickly shared and debated on social media.

X user @TheDenofNerds said the claim was true, though he didn’t add any context to his post. “I’m gonna drop a video about Kevin Feige leaving Marvel for Star Wars… IT’S REAL!!!” he wrote.

And though nothing is confirmed about it, @Waitforahsoka believed it would be a bad choice for Star Wars.

Another netizen, @Prese116, then enlisted the problems Marvel is currently facing. Aside from Feige’s alleged exit, Mahershali Ali is reportedly considering leaving the Blade reboot. Jeremy Slater and The Marvels’ director are also allegedly considering leaving their projects due to creative differences. And with the problems its TV series has been experiencing as of late, like Daredevil’s creative overhaul, Marvel Studios has finally realized it needs showrunners to run its TV series.

Some also doubt MyTimeToShineHello’s credibility, with some saying he’s been known for spreading false information and clickbait posts, with @GuyWhoConquers calling him “my time to lie.”

However, to add substance to the claim, @royalzealots revealed that some sources said Zack Snyder is in talks to lead the MCU when the Mutant Saga begins after Feige leaves.

So far, it remains to be seen if Feige will leave Marvel to move to Star Wars and lead its future projects. The 50-year-old has yet to break his silence about it, so fans should only take this assumption with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed yet. With all the issues Marvel faces today, die-hard fans hope everything will be fine and the entertainment will continue, especially with the rumored return of the original Avengers stars.
