“It was good while it lasted”: Netizens react to Twitter changing into X Corp.

Twitter is under x Corp

Twitter has been absorbed by Elon Musk’s X Corp. and has now ceased to exist as a separate entity. Musk bought the company last year with the plan to convert it into an “everything” app, called X.
Musk has been very open about his fascination with China’s WeChat app. People in the Asian country use it as a one-stop portal for all their communication and payment needs. He earlier mentioned that acquiring Twitter was the first step toward his vision. However, we are not sure if he plans to convert the microblogging portal into an all-purpose app.
The news has caused a stir on social media, with people giving mixed views on the topic. A user posted his grief by saying that “it was good while it lasted” and he hoped not to have the Twitter experience “destroyed.”

Twitter is now a part of Elon Musk-owned X Corp.

Twitter is no more an individual company but only exists within X Corp. The information was first reported by Slate on April 4. The news outlet presented a legal document from Laura Loomer’s lawsuit against the company, which concerns her banned account.

A legal document regarding the same has been shared on social media, and it reads:

“Twitter, Inc. has been merged into X Corp. and no longer exists. X Corp. is a privately held corporation, incorporated in Nevada and with its principal place of business in San Francisco, California, and is thus a citizen of Nevada and California.”

It also means that the company is now based in Nevada and California instead of its original birthplace of Delaware.

Netizens react to X Corp. absorbing Twitter, say the social media platform is “dead”

The news caused a flurry on the internet. Different people reacted differently to the news. Let’s check out some of the reactions:

Some were intrigued by the change and wondered if this was the beginning of the X app. They also shared old videos of Elon Musk discussing WeChat.

Meanwhile, others made jokes and shared memes about the same. One user suggested the return of Vine, a popular video-sharing app from 2013.

Please note that the microblogging website is still functional under its name, and X Corp. has not made any announcement regarding a makeover. Meanwhile, after the merger, X Corp. is liable for any debts and other expenditures related to Twitter Inc.
