In just a day, millions of people globally will be tuning in for King Charles’s Coronation. After the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, the crown gets passed down to her son, Charles III, and his Queen Consort Camilla. The preparations for the historic event are all around the internet.  With the coronation around the corner here is everything you need to know about the King Charles coronation event schedule, the coronation concert, celebrities attending the concert, and also the light show.

King Charles Coronation Event Schedule 

The coronation of King Charles III and his Queen Consort Camilla will happen side by side in a religious ceremony on May 6th, 2023 at Westminster Abbey. The crowning ceremony will kick start three-day-long celebrations for the Royal Family. The coronation ceremony will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Following this ceremony on May 6th, there is a concert planned to celebrate this historic day for the Royal Family. The Coronation Concert will happen on the next day, 7th May 2023 on the grounds of Windsor Castle.

A light show sequence called “Lighting up the Nation” will happen across 10 important locations around the United Kingdom. This light concert signifies the nation uniting in celebration of its new king. These 10 locations around the UK will be lit up with lasers and projections with the help of drones.

A few of these locations have been revealed such as Blackpool, Sheffield, Cardiff, Newcastle and Gateshead, Cornwall, and Belfast while the rest are still kept as a surprise.
