The devs have also confirmed that the game length will be similar to the first Spider-Man game, but how many hours will both the main story and side quests take to beat?
Devs reveal the Game Length for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Some gamers think that by looking at the game length of a title, they’d be able to tell whether it was good or not. Sure, more hours playing means you’re getting your money’s worth. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, as Ryan Smith, the senior game director at Insomniac, told VG247. In an attempt to deliver a “memorable” experience to their players, the next Spider-Man game will be around 16-18 hours long.
Though it may seem little compared to other games like Red Dead Redemption 2, which have over a 100-hour completion time, it follows in the footsteps of the first Spider-Man game from Insomniac. The first game took players around 17 hours to complete the main story.

Based on Smith’s statement, we can assume that it will take us less than 20 hours to complete the main story of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Take note that this length only talks about the game’s main story. If you like exploring every inch of the larger open-world map in the upcoming Spider-Man game, it might take you longer than 20 hours to finish the game.
Is it too short for a AAA game?
The game’s length is just right, as it’s not too short and not too long. We can’t help but agree with Ryan Smith’s explanation about how they want every mission to be memorable. Honestly, that worked for them when they released the first two Spider-Man games in the franchise, so why change something that’s not broken?
