Oprah Winfrey recently stunned everyone at The Color Purple world premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday, December 6. And if there’s one thing that people have quickly noticed, it’s her massive body transformation. As she dazzled in a tight, long-sleeved purple gown while posing on the red carpet, the media mogul revealed the secret behind her incredible weight loss.
Oprah Winfrey Talked About Weight Loss
Oprah Winfrey has been open about her health and fitness journey as she tries to lose weight over the years.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said her weight isn’t just one thing but everything. She then revealed the work she had to do to achieve her new looks.
“I intend to keep it that way,” she said. “I was on that treadmill today.”
Winfrey weighed 237 pounds at her heaviest and was overweight most of her career. In 2015, she became the ambassador for Weight Watchers and said at the time that it was easier compared to other programs she had been on.
In a press release via Hello! Magazine, she called the program a lifestyle, while its way of eating and living was so “freeing.” She never felt like she was on a diet, and it even worked on her. The TV host added that she didn’t even experience struggling, as she could eat everything she loved, from tacos to pasta. “I’ve never felt deprived,” she continued.
At the time, she initially lost over 40 pounds and would use the eating program again when she felt she needed to “reset.”
Is Oprah Winfrey Using Ozempic?
With her weight loss, rumors started to swirl that Oprah Winfrey might be using Ozempic or similar medications to shed pounds. Though she admitted to thinking of using it, she decided to do it on her own.
On a panel alongside obesity specialists, Winfrey revealed that it would be the easy way out if she took the drug, per Page Six. According to her, one of the reasons she almost opted for it was being “ashamed in the tabloids every week for over 25 years” due to her alleged lack of “willpower” to have her health checked.
What is Oprah Winfrey’s Diet and Exercise?
Oprah.com revealed that Oprah Winfrey’s diet is healthy but still “far from dull.” She opts for 1,700 well-balanced calories a day, spread out among her three meals and two snacks.
It’s composed of 50 percent good carbohydrates, like whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, 30 percent healthy fats, and 20 percent proteins. In addition, she takes about 34 grams of fiber and 1,100 milligrams of calcium every day.
She consumes a lot of fresh foods, which are prepared to keep her sodium levels within recommended levels.

On the other hand, her exercise comprises cardio and strength training. She does 45 minutes of aerobic exercise every morning, six times a week, made up of power walking on a graded treadmill, jogging, elliptical exercise, stair-stepping, or rowing.
For four or five evenings a week before dinner, she would do another 20 minutes of any exercises said above.
In addition, she does strength training four or five times a week for 30 to 40 minutes, uses gym equipment to tone her legs and arms, and does abdominal work daily. When she has no strength training, she will run for 75 minutes in her free mornings.
Oprah Winfrey has put in a lot of hard work to achieve the ideal weight and body she has been dreaming of. And by the looks of it, she is now reaping what she sows.
