Pokemon GO: Water Festival Starts Today – Complete Guide

Right after the Mega Latios and Mega Latias electrified the Skies, Pokemon GO will be testing the waters with a new adventure in the Season of Alola – Pokemon Go: Water Festivals!

As we come closer to the end of Pokemon GO’s Season of Alola, Niantic is bringing back this event that hasn’t seen the light of day for many years. Previously, flying-type Pokemons took the spotlight during the Air Adventures event. Now, it’s time for the Water-type Pokemons to shine in the Water Festival.

EVENT DURATION

Pokemon GO: Water Festival will officially start today (May 12, 2022) at 10 a.m. of your local time. Subsequently, the event will conclude on Friday of next week (May 20, 2022) at 8 p.m. of your local time.

WHICH POKEMON WILL BE FEATURED?

  • A Lapras wearing a scarf is set to hit the center stage during the Water Festival. Also, Tapu Fini, the guardian deity of Poni Island will be officially available in Pokemon Go. If luck finds you well, a Shiny Lapras will be lurking around in the game. Who knows, it might just be beneath the surface of the water!

  • Other Pokemons that will debut in the game are Dewpider and Araquanid. Dewpider is a Bug/Water-type Pokemon introduced in Gen VII which will later evolve into an Araquanid. For it to be able to evolve in Pokemon Go, use 50 Dewpider candies to successfully turn it into an Araquanid.
