Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Guide: How to unlock 7-Star Tera Raids

There’s a saying amongst the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players that the 7-Star Tera Raids are among the toughest challenges in the Nintendo Switch game. Not only because the events in themselves are difficult, but also because the path to unlock 7-Star Tera Raids are tough.

  • Anyone who has roamed Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Paldea region may have witnessed roaming sparkling crystals. Approaching these crystals allows the onset of Tera Raids. Based on the concept of Terastallized Pokemon, the challenge/events revolve around teaming up with three other players to defeat or catch the Pokemon.

These Raids differ in their difficulty depending upon which Pokemon exactly is available for catching. Raid battles have not been rare in Pokemon games. Tera Raid is only a successor to such Raid events.

  1. So the higher the star, the rarer the Pokemon. A 7-Star Tera Raids do not include legendary Pokemon. But they do sometimes contain Pokemon like Charizard of Cinderace, or even (maybe) a Greninja?
  2. While the lower-level Tera Raids do not ask much, the 7-Star ones need to first be unlocked. Not only will one have to move to 6-Star Tera Raids first, but it is also advised to keep at least level 100 Pokemons.

Read on to know how to unlock these raids and catch the amazing rare Pokemons.

How to Unlock 7-Star Tera Raids

In very basic, the following are the conditions for taking part in a 7-Star Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

  1. Finish all three story paths – Victory Road, Starfall Street, and Path of Legends. Complete The Way Home Quest.
  2. Now only if this stopped here, but it doesn’t. Once this is done, one will need to rechallenge all 8 gym leaders and win. And then one has to complete the Academy Ace Tournament.
  3. The next step is to win multiple 5-Star Tera Raids around the Paldea region. Eventually after doing enough of these, one will get a call from Jacq about the availability of 6-Star Tera Raids.
  4. Only after having access to 6-Star Tera Raid, one can unlock 7-Stars.

About fighting the Tera Raid bosses

Each Raid Boss Level has a different Hit Point multiplier to calculate the maximum HP of the boss. As one proceeds through the succeeding stars, the boss becomes more and more terrifying. It helps to be on the lookout for official announcements for Tera Raid events.

Although you can go in alone, we do not recommend in the slightest to approach a battle like this alone. Take as many friends as you can.

The way your friend connects can sometimes be hampered by their game version. The placement of the raids is random. Unlike the Raid Battles of the past.

The terrastallized Pokemon are also random for the most. There’s no set order in the lower star raids. These reset as you clear them out and as the day passes to the next day.
